She never picked a lane — and that was the strategy. Swipe the five-venture portfolio Tina Roth Eisenberg built by following her curiosity instead of a plan → swissmiss (~1M readers) · CreativeMornings (252 cities, $0 extracted) · TeuxDeux · Tattly (120+ artists, $1.5M+ in royalties) · Friends Work Here All side projects. All generosity-first. She gave the community away and never extracted from it — and that became the most durable asset she owns. The honest reckoning: she sold Tattly in 2021; the buyer shut it down in 2026. Diligence the acquirer as hard as the deal. GENEROSITY = ASSET. Comment or DM “TINA” for the full case study. Reunion lunch @friendsworkhere ✨ This is the place where I launched Closeup, my creative studio (2017-2020), learned about labors of love from @swissmiss, and made lifelong friends. Without this community, I’m pretty sure @anywaymag wouldn’t exist. Thank you all for inspiring me with your incredible creativity, skills, talents, energy, determination, kindness, and heart.

Obrigada setembro! Você marcou nossa história do começo ao fim. 😍 #hubdeinovacao #santoscity #conexao #networking #netweaving

During an interview yesterday, I found myself discussing the 40-day, 15-city, road trip workshop tour that I dragged my wife and two kids all around the country for in 2017. I decided it would be the last time I talked about it without finally having something to point people to, since I’m no longer paying to keep the site up—beyond saying, “If you scroll back to 2017 on my Instagram...” Looking back, it’s wild to think that this massive undertaking, with so many moving parts, went off without a hitch (if you don’t count the flat tire the U-Haul trailer suffered while in Pittsburgh). We had a date before which we couldn’t leave, and a date by which we needed to be home for the kids to start school again, precisely giving us a 40-day window. We decided which cities we just had to visit, and then it was on me to track down and coordinate with someone(s) in each location, and get their help on the ground to make an entire lettering workshop happen on the ONE exact date that we were going to be in their city, accounting for driving time between places, time for the family to sight-see and be tourists in several of these cities they’d never been, etc. While all that was very much still being planned, I designed and built an entire website, a unique identity and brand system, set up the ticket sales through Ticketleap (where we could withdraw and use the money before the events happened, if needed, so we could use it to quite literally build the road of this road trip while driving down it), and started promoting it on social media, and at local events like CreativeMornings Austin. In the midst of, apparently, some sort of fugue state where I was under the delusion that I didn’t have enough to do, I decided that this tour around the country wouldn’t be complete without its own tour poster, that I needed to design, have printed by as many local print shops around the country as possible, and then put the proceeds in a scholarship fund to be awarded to an individual pursuing an education in the letter-based arts. I’d totally do it again—but not as a road trip, I’d travel directly to and from each location and come home in between!

I consider myself a Human Gatherer but not many gatherings make me as happy as our @friendsworkhere Fire Escape Concerts. The concept? Ask a band to perform on our fire escape. (Thank you @caseygreenleaf and band!) Make sure landlord is on board with the idea! (Ours not only support the idea but hang out at the concert!) Whispers: Pray for nobody calling the police on us. Put chairs and beverages out and watch neighbors stop, listen and meet each other. (Best part: once the music stops everyone stays and lingers!) So simple, yet so effective. Community building at its best. Hearts is full.
