Autumn in London = art fair season. 🍂🖼️

From late September through October, we spent our weekends wandering the aisles, discovering new artists and falling for more pieces than our walls can hold. Here’s where we went:

✦ @britishartfair , Saatchi Gallery: A celebration of modern and contemporary British art, and the perfect start to the season.
✦ @affordableartfairuk , Battersea: A brilliant place to start or grow a collection, with so much variety under one roof.
✦ @theotherartfair , Shoreditch: Meeting artists face to face and hearing the stories behind their work.

And it didn’t stop there. October also brought @frieze.london , @friezemasters , @padesignart @154artfair to the city.

📍 Still time this weekend! @parallax222 is on at Chelsea Old Town Hall, King’s Road, this weekend 24th - 25th October. Entry is free, and you can get your tickets online.🎟️

Art fairs aren’t just for buying. They’re one of the best ways to research, discover and get to know the artists you love.

Found something special? Keep it, along with the story of where you found it, in Aureline. ✨ Try the demo via the link in bio.✨

Life Imitates Art.
Human nature is a complex matter.
“hold, as ‘twere, the mirror up to nature.” - Hamlet Act III

Music: Martha Argerich- the Argentinian powerhouse & longest living highly established pianist. Her famous words outline:

“All forms of Music and Art are important and necessary to express ourselves and to connect with people from other countries and cultures.”

After a pretty wild week seeing all that we could it only feels right to share some of the pictures we just couldn’t stop thinking about.

First is Maestra favourite @ptolemymann.art at @tristanhoare seen at @friezemasters. A joy to see her earlier works inspired by Mexico. Then the mesmerising glimpses into the world of @gideon_rubin at @anatebgigallery and on to more surreal offerings from @estebanjefferson @herald_st and it would be remiss not to share the wee (but oh so spenny) @gertrudeabercrombie @karmakarma9 so many delights in the tents this year!

300 art galleries, one obsession: collage. ✂
️
Last weekend I visited Frieze in London: one of the biggest art events in the world. So much to see, but you know me, of course I was hunting for collage.😁

And there was plenty of it.♥️

The works I found span more than 60 years, from Mimmo Rotella tearing posters off the walls of Rome in 1961 to Shinro Ohtake’s scrapbook universes today.

It made me think: collage didn’t come back, it actually never really went away. But right now it feels especially alive, because it looks like the world we live in: fragmented, torn, full of unexpected combinations. It takes reality apart and puts it back together as something new, even if we’re not quite sure what yet.

➡️ Swipe to the end to see some of the collages I spotted and remember to tell me your favourite in the comments!

There’s a Andy Warhol’s collage you’ve probably never seen. 👀
