I’ve reached some point in motherhood where I am (still) seemingly always exhausted and sometimes frustrated… but it’s accompanied by this underlying joy; I mean that REAL kind of joy that doesn’t just ‘put a smile on your face,’ but the kind that also has that little pang of pain because you know that one little moment will never happen again.

The other night during snuggles Nes whispered to me “Mommy, I will never forget you.” I was so spooked. It shook me. To say I’m ‘in-touch with mortality’ is an understatement. I spiraled a bit, but then wound up where I started… reminded of that joy. And I hope that’s what you never forget.
