Inaugural Lou Mile ✅
Race Director added to the resume ✅ In the words of my girl @huesofval “What can’t an Aries do?!?” 🤣

The Inaugural @theloumile is complete and was a HUGE success! The Crew put on our very first race and we SOLD OUT! I consider myself a day 1 as I joined @stlruncrew shortly after its inception so the be able to not only witness but be a part of the growth of this beautiful community has been so special. When I moved to St. Louis, they were my first friends and have become family. I am forever grateful to be a part of such a loving, welcoming and inclusive community.

We have talked about putting on a race for some time and so this is a dream realized. @rickyfromst.louis asked me to be the Race Director and I am super grateful and honored that he trusted me with this task. None of us have any experience putting on a race and yet we all worked so hard to put on an event that was so positive and well received by not only the participants but also the community in which we ran through. Bringing love to the North Side of St. Louis is something we are very intentional about and we could not have asked for a better day. I could not have asked for a better team of people to walk alongside throughout the journey. I am exhausted in the best way and my heart is so full!

Year 2 is going to be even BIGGER!

Special shoutout to @araej for letting me pick her brain and sharing her knowledge! ❤️

🎬 THE LOU MILE: BEHIND THE SCENES | PART 1

Before the runners hit the streets, there’s a whole team working behind the scenes to make it happen! 💪🏾🏃🏾‍♂️

From Ricky picking up the go-karts and getting the U-Haul ready to the STL Run Crew gathering signs, markers, and everything needed for each mile marker, this is what it takes to bring an event to life. 🎥

But the Lou Mile is about more than running a mile. It’s about community, bringing people together, and shining a light on North St. Louis. ❤️‍🔥

And of course, we had to take a moment to show some love to Leslie on her birthday! 🎂🎉

This is just the beginning. The preparation is only one part of the story. Stay tuned for more from the Lou Mile!
