“All men have the stars, but they are not the same things for different people. For some, who are travelers, the stars are guides. For others they are no more than little lights in the sky. For others, who are scholars, they are problems... But all these stars are silent. You — you alone — will have stars as no one else has them... In one of the stars I shall be living. In one of them I shall be laughing. And so it will be as if all the stars were laughing, when you look at the sky at night.” - Antoine de Saint-Exupéry

Quintessential California : Yosemite, Electric, jacket weather and free Rivian Charging (yes the whole round trip cost only $17). We attempted to image perseid meteor shower but clouds ruined it but still caught a few streaks . Overall, it was seamless taking EV up and down the Yosemite valley! To more astrophotography and to clearer skies! #gooddaygoodtimegoodcompany#astrophotography#yosemitetesla#yosemitenationalpark#washburn#yosemite#yosemitevalley#yosemitenps#fujfilm#fujifilm_xseries#fujifilxt20#yosemitenation#yosemitephotographer#tesla#teslamodel3#teslamotors @teslamotors @teslamodel

First Astro camping of the year 2024.

The universe is a dark forest. Every civilization is an armed hunter stalking through the trees like a ghost, gently pushing aside branches that block the path and trying to tread without sound. Even breathing is done with care. The hunter has to be careful, because everywhere in the forest are stealthy hunters like him. If he finds other life—another hunter, an angel or a demon, a delicate infant or a tottering old man, a fairy or a demigod—there’s only one thing he can do: open fire and eliminate them. In this forest, hell is other people. An eternal threat that any life that exposes its own existence will be swiftly wiped out. This is the picture of cosmic civilization. It’s the explanation for the Fermi Paradox.
Liu Cixin

Drove 800 miles on sat morning and came back on Sunday night in my trusted Volvo for a ride that is smoother than Swedish butter. I’ve wanted to show the Milky Way with a sunset image of this place for a long time I think I’m getting closer to learning how to edit and blend the images more. Foreground taken at the main road as learned from @pxl8photography @beethenomad @w.finch_photography @mandyonearth @oldguywithacamera from the last time I was here. Milky Way 47 images at 60seconds on my star tracker

In a super windy night we managed to see the glory of the Milky Way. Shooting next to @from2worlds was a lot of fun and we had the place all to ourselves that night. Because it was so windy, I couldn’t use long exposures. This is 20 images stacked at 6 seconds each.
