Rockin’ my way into Friday with the latest from @fangusrock, Emerald Dream. @from_the_urn has been one of my favorite labels to follow and collect over the last 6 years, and this Fangus LP is a great example of the label’s high-quality output. The music totally rips: absolutely smokin’ 70s-style hard rock / heavy psych with riffs that’ll blow your hair back and the vibiest organ parts that really set these guys apart from other bands in the genre. Plus, the vocals are maniacal, blown out, and so badass. And then there is the added care and detail that goes into the packaging for all of this label’s releases. This is the Die Hard edition of the album, limited to 35 copies (mine is hand-numbered 18/20, and I used to know what the 20 vs. 35 was about, but I forget at the moment), with a cool outer sleeve with a green acetate window cover. Listen to Fangus, check out From the Urn, and support underground heavy rock 🤘🏻

💿 TOP 5 NEW RELEASES of April 2026 Band: 𝐏𝐨𝐢𝐠𝐧𝐚𝐫𝐝 Album: 𝑹𝒊𝒑𝒐𝒔𝒕𝒆 Genre: Speed Metal/Punk Label: From The Urn ➨ This Montreal speed metal duo is no joke! The band’s debut release is bursting with kickass thrasher riffs and ripping hardcore vocals as well as an unwavering dedication to punk’s sonic roots. Pick up those spiked collars and studded braces and get ready for a riot! - Listen to: 𝘚𝘦𝘯𝘵𝘦𝘯𝘤𝘦 𝘴𝘢𝘯𝘴 𝘧𝘪𝘯 Band: 𝐖𝐚𝐫𝐬𝐞𝐧𝐚𝐥 Album: 𝑬𝒏𝒅𝒍𝒆𝒔𝒔 𝑩𝒆𝒈𝒊𝒏𝒏𝒊𝒏𝒈𝒔… Genre: Speed Metal/Thrash Label: Massacre Records ➨ FEEL THE THRASH! 30s into the album it’s clear that the band have created a third scorcher. A great riff says more than a thousand words; you’ll be fully energized by both the angry first half of the album to the hype-filled latter half - Listen to: 𝘖𝘯𝘸𝘢𝘳𝘥 𝘵𝘰 𝘖𝘶𝘳 𝘋𝘦𝘢𝘵𝘩 Band: 𝐀𝐫𝐜𝐡𝐬𝐩𝐢𝐫𝐞 Album: 𝑻𝒐𝒐 𝑭𝒂𝒔𝒕 𝑻𝒐 𝑫𝒊𝒆 Genre: Tech Death ➨ An absolute treat of an album from ine of Vancouver's most talented. Chaingun vocals (Archspire’s specialty), surprisingly groovy riffs, lightning-fast melodies and blast beats befitting the album’s name are rife while still providing a fresh sound. Hold onto your jaw ‘cause it’s about to drop - Listen to: 𝘛𝘩𝘦 𝘝𝘦𝘴𝘴𝘦𝘭 Band: 𝐖𝐢𝐧𝐭𝐞𝐫 𝐆𝐫𝐚𝐯𝐞𝐬 Album: 𝑼𝒏𝒅𝒆𝒓 𝑻𝒉𝒆 𝑴𝒊𝒌𝒘𝒂𝒎 Genre: Raw Black Metal/Punk Label: Neon Taste Records ➨ An underground gem straight out of the Yukon. A deeply cultural album created through raw skill and knowledge of the black metal arts. Through icy vocals straight out of The Exorcist and crust-punker drum beats, it is unbelievably cathartic. Perfect for dark nights under the freezing moon - Listen to: 𝘕𝘰𝘳𝘵𝘩𝘦𝘳𝘯 𝘚𝘱𝘦𝘤𝘵𝘳𝘦 Band: Ø𝐛𝐞𝐥𝐢𝐬𝐤 EP: 𝑪𝒂𝒍𝒍 𝑻𝒐 𝑶𝒃𝒍𝒊𝒗𝒊𝒐𝒏 Genre: Death-Grind/Sludge ➨ A monstrous offspring of grindcore and death metal, with an undertone of classic black metal and an overtone of pure sludgey ooze. If the chimeric description of this work somehow does not entice you, boldly venture into oblivion…you won’t regret it - Listen to: 𝘗𝘙𝘐𝘚𝘖𝘕𝘌𝘙 𝘖𝘍 𝘛𝘏𝘌 𝘚𝘒𝘜𝘓𝘓 ✒️ @isvondead #canadianmetal #metalrelease #instametal #speedmetal #blackenedmetal
