🎉 Un-Birthday 🎉

I am in a group where we do monthly book mail for unbirthdays...but surprise! Mine fell on my birthday month. These ladies straight up spoiled me. My favorite movie, a face mask for my migraines and rosacea, house shoes for my weird flex of not being able to stand touching my cold floors, a cowboy glass for my yummy cowboy romances, snacks that I love and are allergy friendly for my boys, loads of books, and more!

I am missing one book thanks to Amazon sending me a ruined book that is being replaced.

💭 I turn 40 in about two weeks. What would you do to celebrate a big birthday? Man if I could go watch a @yankees game or even @swbrailriders game, I would be in heaven.

Coffee & currently reading ☕️ 🤍

QOTD: What's your go-to coffee order? If I've tagged you, throw in a book to match 🖤

Thanks for the tag @bookish.brookes 🫶🏻 My go-to coffee order is a cappucino but I'll indulge in a black coffee or espresso as well 😅 I can have a coffee and go straight to sleep!

Still currently reading Dungeon Crawler Carl. I know there's 7 other books in the series but when I find a book I really like... I take ages reading it 🤣 I want to linger in those feelings for as long as I can.

Many of the books featured here are different genres. From classics & historical fiction to science fiction or fantasy. Outside it's raining, I have a candle lit, a coffee in hand, & there is a library of lives for me to jump into.
This is peace.

To those who read to the very end of my posts every time, thank you!! 🌹 I see you & appreciate you.

Happy Reading Book Dragons,
Bookish Beans 😁🫶🏻

Rooted In Silence
@authoramwalker

Part I of a III Part Series

She’s planning the perfect wedding. She’s also planning the perfect murder.

Emily Byrd has everything she ever wanted: a beautiful home, a perfect fiancé, and the wedding of her dreams just days away. But perfection has always felt like a performance and Emily has grown tired of playing her part.

Behind closed doors, she’s plotting something unthinkable. Her fiancé, Remmy Black, trusts her with his life. He shouldn’t.

Lurking on the edges of their quiet neighborhood is Miss Volkova, the enigmatic neighbor whose watchful presence unsettles Emily in ways she can’t explain. And then there’s Matt, Remmy’s best friend, whose loyalty to Remmy makes him dangerously curious... too close to uncovering secrets Emily would kill to protect.

As the wedding approaches, Emily’s carefully tended plans begin to fray. The question isn’t whether she can go through with it-it’s whether she can keep anyone from noticing until it’s too late.

Dark, tense, and unsettling, Rooted in Silence is a psychological thriller about obsession, secrets, and the twisted lengths we go to for control

My thoughts:
I thought the descriptions were spot on and it definitely had a creep factor. This was not my typical book but I like to spread my wings and try new books!

In my mind, Emily has some mental issues but it’s not spelled out in the book or even what lead to her “plan” being put into motion. But with the help of a neighbor, who is a bit terrifying, she is able to practice what she’s been planning.

Once I finished, I didn’t feel complete…like I need more to the story… to what lead to the ending of book 1. But I’m hopeful some of those holes will be filled with book 2.

Tangled Veil
@elizamodistewrites

Book club: @thelittlebookshopbookclub
Thanks to the organizer @from_thedesk_oftrish for some great indie authors

A Gilmore Girls thriller meets a Scooby-Doo romance. The fourth and final book in The Veiled Series serves spice, banter, plenty of f-bombs...and a side order of lying to the cops. Check those trigger warnings below.
His ghosts hover, tangible and ever-present, but do they mimic reckoning or redemption?

Colton Langdon’s life is an angst-filled hell, and he’s well aware that he deserves it. Yes, after all his crimes and betrayals, life has fatefully twisted him to be…here. With a bullet freshly dug out of his kneecap and his mind still grieving over the death of his ex, he is simply stuck. Stuck with twenty-three staples holding his leg together. Stuck with a pair of crutches he’d love to chuck in a dumpster. And, coincidentally, stuck with Skylar Olson.

She is the human incarnation of sugar. Platinum blonde. Light as air with sea glass eyes. An ex-stripper who was around the wrong people in the wrong place at the wrong time. Held captive and assaulted in the exact same house where Colton’s knee was blown to bits, they’re now stuck together for the sake of their story to the authorities.

Their story is a lie.

Their lives as they know them—their closeness and their relationship—are a lie.

Colton is aware that the best lies begin from scraps of the truth, but those scraps are growing, weaving and wrapping around his heart like a wispy gauze.

Colton and Skylar may fall into the web of it all…but is it strong enough to allow them to survive?

TW: drug and alcohol use, mentions of murder, kidnapping, human trafficking, and assault.

Author’s Note for Tropes & Themes:

Web of lies
Small town
Fake dating
One bed
Love after loss
Banter
Found family
Spicy

My thoughts:
A must read if you love Romantic Suspense!

There were some moments that you weren’t sure you could trust what you were reading, then twists and turns along the way!

The author kept me on my toes. I loved Colt from day one. There was something about him that I was Iike yup he’s true to himself.

Thank you for some extra goodies @elizamodistewrites

If you see this, consider yourself tagged! ✨

Joining the "My Variants" trend!! Thank you @boo.bitchcraft.books for tagging me.

A diverse collection that runs from the cosy, tea-loving energy of Bilbo Baggins to the absolute audacity of Captain Barbossa & Grandpa Joe ☕️ 📖 😉

Overall, I’m a sentimental romantic with a rebellious streak & a very long "to-do" list. All with a helluva lot of passion & moments of exhibitionism 🤣 I stilll enjoy my alone time too though!

QOTD: Do you relate to any of these characters as well?

○ Bonnie Bennet
○ Jo March
○ Alice Cullen
○ Rapunzel
○ Marianne Dashwood
○ Grandpa Joe
○ Bilbo Baggins
○ Captain Barbossa
○ Himmel the Hero

Happy Reading Book Dragons,
