My interior series no.36 is introducing Heather Brady @heather.m.brady @fromaprilforward artist/copywriter/researcher and Nate Walker @nwalkermusic singer songwriter/producer and their son Julian’s living in Frenchtown, NJ “Feeling of Connection”, in JutakuKenchiku magazine @jyutakukenchiku December 2024 issue.

“We want to stay in this very central space so that we have that flow of, we have home, and we walk out our door, and as much as there is activity in this little town, we are part of it. And the main street becomes an extension of home for us. When we step out of our door, within a block or so, it is still home to us. We physically feel comfortable. All feels connected.”

“Always excited to have something that’s had a bit of a life already in another home. We like the feeling of connection it brings—especially when we know that it was really loved by its previous owners, being part of its story, and continuing it.”

Each and every day, this studio is so full of love;
I can never quite put it into words.

So, I decided:
No website, no formal advertising, just moments captured.✨

‘The weekly room portrait challenge’ created by @sjaxelby on @roomportraitclub featuring our beautiful plaster pink ‘Jonquil’ designed by @salvesengraham . Every Saturday @roomportraitclub reveal a room portrait and anyone can join and interpret the photograph however they choose - such a wonderful idea @sjaxelby @roomportraitclub that have given so many of us such joy whether following for the next interpretation on @roomportraitclub or those actually taking part in the challenge👏 Thank you so much to all those who taken part, we cannot stop swooning! We have tagged all the talented ‘interpreters’ so do head over to their pages to see more of their beautiful grid! Special thank you @sjaxelby @roomportraitclub 💕👏🎨

a little news: as of today, this mini work—along with a handful of others (and more on the way in the weeks ahead)—is available for sale on a new hb website!

about a year ago, i started making (mostly) mini drawings and paintings and posting them at @fromaprilforward . it was a quiet project/self-imposed challenge exploring color and mark making as spontaneously as possible.
along the way, i’ve questioned myself plenty, but the answers that have come have all ultimately been yes. yes to watercolors. yes to flowers. yes to pink. yes to abstraction. and yes to sharing. and so, i take another step.

hoping you’ll visit the website and let me know what you think, and sending lots of love and happy almost spring wishes your way on this chilly-in-new-jersey saturday.
