Good morning from Hacienda Doña Andrea in Santa Fe, and my favorite kitchen ever 🤎 I packed an entire suitcase of chocolate baking & cooking supplies, drinking chocolate, and chocolate to share. I am so excited to greet everyone today with @projet_chocolat that I am giddy. Grateful to be here, teaching drinking chocolate with such an amazing group.

Shoutout to that doctor that said I couldn’t get back to doing the things I loved after my back injury. YOU WERE RIGHT. I’m doing more… 💪😉

MASSIVE shoutout to my partner in DekaFit and dearest friend, @adinacogs. You’re insanely strong in every sense of the word.

Continuing the massive shoutouts to my PT @dr.saransh_kapoor who helped bring me back to life, my new gym @theyardgym__westhighlands that gave me that final strong push in training, and my unwavering support system whose love is like no other. Simply would not be here without y’all, and I don’t say that lightly.

It felt so good to do this race. It felt like a milestone I really wanted to complete. Not just physically, mentally. After a year of being almost fully sedentary at times and genuinely not thinking I’d live without pain, it took a toll on me. I knew deep down that could not be the end of my story. Doubt plus that kind of pain is a scary combo. Thankfully, I found the courage to keep facing it, and I’m grateful every single day the odds were in my favor.

A final thought… I still trust professionals, AND I trust myself more than I ever have, too. Some of the feedback I received was terrifying, especially for someone who lives an active lifestyle and is still relatively young.

Keep asking questions. Keep advocating for yourself. Don’t give up on yourself. We need you here living out loud. 🙏🏻🫶🏻

This message isn’t just about physical health, either 🤍

Something shifted in Santa Fe. It’s always been a place to transform. A place for renewal and it’s where I got to meet all the wonderful women in this post. This year’s Santa Fe Women’s Cacao Summit was filled with joy, peace, laughter, new information, stories of wisdom, beautiful views, and lots of chocolate. A big thank you to @fromgoldenroots for making the most delicious nourishing food! I’m so grateful to @marapapamasterfoodie for moderating our women’s panel with Mackenzie Rivers @thenextbatchschool and Bonnie Bennett @kakawa_chocolatehouse .
We were fortunate to have Dr. Patricia Crown join us as our featured speaker sharing information we’d never heard before on cacao, Chaco Canyon, and the Southwest. Plus a surprise visit from @maricelpresilla7 ! It just would not have been a summit without all the women who attended. Gosh, I miss everyone. And I miss the women who could not make it. You know who you are. We were thinking of you the whole time.

Tried posting this morning but Instagram wasn’t having it 😑 but it’s never too late to say ‘Happy RDN Day!’ 🥳

There’s no doubt I chose the best career path for me. I get to talk about food/nutrition, share food with others, teach people how to cook, all while continuing to learn & connect with others 💞

I’m so thankful to have met some of my best friends during my dietetic internship at Vanderbilt, and over the years, I’ve met so many other incredibly inspiring RDNs. These are just a few of them! 😊

If you’re a dietitian and we haven’t connected yet, send me a DM! #rdnday #nationalnutritionmonth
