WHAT WERE THEY THINKING? 🤔

#Ward8TO we need to talk about this bench.

A public bench has been installed with people sitting with their backs facing the street of Eglinton. A highly traffic zone. Mr. Pratt lost his foot some years ago across the street, sitting on a bench with his back facing the streets of Little Jamaica. Now @cityofto strikes back! Ofcourse with the incumbents approval.

Seriously?

When we invest public money into our neighbourhoods, the basic question should be: Does this actually make sense for the people who live or visit here?

A bench should be positioned with safety, visibility, accessibility and the surrounding environment in mind. The City’of Toronto own street-furniture program says placement matters when creating a better pedestrian experience and Toronto’s 2026 public feedback specifically raised concerns about bench placement, safety and sightlines. (City of Toronto)

So I have a simple question for @cityofto and our incumbent councillor:

Who approved this placement and why?

Residents deserve better than decisions that appear to be made without common sense or meaningful consideration for the people who actually use these spaces.

This is exactly why Ward 8 needs representatives who pay attention to the details; not just during election season, but every day.

I won’t say anymore because I’m tired of clowns saying that Im bashing in defence of their disengaged incumbent!

“We all see the problems in our community.
Let’s be the solution.”
