POSTS STORIES REELS TAGGED

I’ve recently moved back to KL after 7 years in the UK! These are some of my favourite sketches from my last couple of months in London. They are just snippets of the life I had there that I’m gonna miss so so much. It’s been really cool looking back at all of my old sketch books from the past of places I used to go, and people I got to meet. Thank you for the memories that I get to keep.
I’ll see you all again soon ❤️
More to come!🙏

We are excited to screen @frozenladybugo 's work, Midnight Graduate, at our Encounters screening tomorrow at the Watershed, Bristol.

Hoching Kwok is a Bristol based filmmaker from Hong Kong who creates 2D animated films with vivid color palettes and expressive line work. Inspired by her upbringing in Hong Kong, "Midnight Graduate" is a coming-of-age animated short that centers around two boys coming to terms with their own adulthood while playing a simple basketball game in their soon-to-be demolished neighborhood court.

I had a wonderful time spending all my money at @pridecaf Bristol today!! Realizing it might have been really silly/inconvenient to tag everyone like that lmao but I've done it now. Thanks to all the vendors and organizers for running such a chill event!

"A high school graduate and teenage gangster reconcile their childhood friendship through one last game of basketball in their soon-to-be-demolished neighbourhood court, jumping through mornings and sunsets of bygone years."

Midnight Graduate is a bittersweet Cantonese short film project that is currently seeking funding~ hoping we'll get it made soon!

Thank you to the wonderful crew who made this trailer with me!:

I'm feeling grateful that despite all the unbelievable craziness that has been happening in the world, 2025 was very kind to me.

Thank you for being here with me, your support, lots of lovely conversations and new connections I made this year.

Here's a little recap so I don't forget in case 2026 turns out to be brutal. Also, an excuse to celebrate my amazing friends, couldn't do it without you !!

My piece for @sightofmusic_bristol + the discovery of the shoesock (very important).

Got a new job that I like and doesn't cause me mental breakdowns.
Feature in Pressing Matters!

Developed an obsession with clay and Klee. Got my first tattoo!
I was awarded a little grant to work on my ceramics (more to follow soon).

Fell in love with Paris (I knoww).
Pretended to drink beer in Prague.
Won a pub quiz! (probably for the first and last time ever). Also, got Worlde in one try (historic).

Worked on my favourite commission ever (pianos).
Found a studio space.
Kept on screenprinting.
Did lots of art fairs, organised an exhibition and took part in a couple of group shows.

Hope 2026 is kind to all of us 🌸

Just about recovered from the incredible 30th edition of @encounterssff. So happy to be able to muck in with the animation side of things and programme the international competition. Much love to everyone who voiced their enjoyment of the selection; after a few years of animated shorts not getting their own dedicated strand, it means more than you know.

Special thanks to the filmmakers who came over and it was lovely to meet the talents behind @karni_and_saul's Wild Summon, @iidamelum's @ovaryactingfilm, @kasparjancis's The Dog and directors @johnkelly_jnr (Retirement Plan) and @leafre_ (Audience Choice winner Hunting)

Was also a joy to present our first #IntimateAnimation festival panel with @lbyellow following the book's launch in Covent Garden earlier this year. This time around we were joined by @germanbenjack and @bazsells of @one_6th diving deep into their beautiful film #TwoBlackBoysInParadise that would go on to win the grand prize.

Gratitude as well to the immensely talented @jayclarke_storyboardartist who proved one of the festival's biggest draws and delighted us all with his tales of visual storytelling for the likes of @aardmananimations and #WesAnderson.

Amidst the various spinning plates I also got to enjoy the fest as an attendee and duck into some excellent presentations, including the @wia.uk SW showcase. It was also a treat to fangirl over the presence of some directly influential figures, including #MichelGondry, @skwiglyanimation podcast alum #CharlieKaufman and composers #BenSalisbury/#GeoffBarrow.

And what I can remember of the @bristol_animation_meetup x @festivus180 party was absolutely smashing.

Good hustle, gang! Here's to another go round in 2026 🥂
