@frsotacoma and @frso_seattle joined @uhlocal8 Embassy Suite workers on the picket line on Saturday, August 15, on the 59th day of their strike; this strike has broken city records for longest running hotel worker strike. The strike began on June 12 after Embassy Suites repeatedly failed to meet workers' demands, which included year-round healthcare, higher wage increases and protection from Immigration and Customs Enforcement (ICE). The organizers of the picket said that negotiations with the company have been difficult and unproductive -- 12 days into the strike, the company came to the table with the exact same offer of a 40-cent increase over the next six month. We raise the workers' demands for a fair contract! Follow us to get updates on when we will be joining on future solidarity days on the picket line.

Free Felix! Free Them All! ✊ Felix is a father who has been detained at the NWDC since April. He has lived and worked in the US for over 20 years, and has 3 children who need him home. His detention is causing his family housing uncertainty and the legal process has already cost his family thousands of dollars, on top of his loss of income due to his inability to work while detained. Despite all this, Felix continues to fight for justice for himself & everyone detained at the NWDC by advocating for better treatment by guards, assisting with legal document translations, and more. Join us on July 26th at 2:30pm outside the NWDC to stand with Felix & with everyone being held prisoner inside! Join us to demand we Shut Down the NWDC and Free Them All! ⛓️‍💥🦋 Shout out to @tacaarpr @puso.tacoma @frsotacoma @tacomadsa for standing alongside us in Solidarity with Felix, his family, and everyone impacted by the system of terror facilitated by ICE and GEO!
