POSTS STORIES REELS TAGGED
628 days.

From The Netherlands to Perth, South West Australia and Canberra, Invisible Injuries has taken us across countries, across communities, and through stories that will stay with us forever.

Today, we filmed our final re-enactment shot.

And with that, production is done.

After more than a year and a half of interviews, travel, long days, hard conversations, late nights, re-enactments, edits, setbacks, breakthroughs and moments that reminded us exactly why this film needed to exist, we have reached the end of this chapter.

To every single person who contributed to this production, whether your role was big, small, visible, behind the scenes, on camera, off camera, in the planning, in the support, in the trust, or in the belief, thank you.

No words will ever properly express the gratitude I feel for the people who helped carry this film to this point. This was never a one-person effort. It was a team effort in every possible sense.

The festival circuit is already in motion, and we truly hope we can share this film in a theatre sooner rather than later.

But for now…

628 days.

What a ride.

It is done.
It is over.
We are ready.

And this is only the beginning of the next chapter: release.

This film is for the veterans.
For their families.
For the people still carrying invisible wounds.
And for everyone impacted by PTSD in one way or another.

Thank you. Thank you. Thank you.

Invisible Injuries is ready.

✨OUT EVERYWHERE✨

‘how we were’ is a love letter to the people we grow up with. i have tried to capture the messy, liberating reality of navigating your early 20s, chasing big dreams, and holding onto the roots and unspoken connections that anchor you, no matter where life takes you. it’s an ending of an era but being excited for what is to come.

to the incredible village who could see and hear my vision and help bring it to life, i am forever grateful and in awe of everything you do. just a bunch of absolute 10s if you ask me. massive gratitude to the powerhouse creative team:

After nearly two years of work, Invisible Injuries is starting to find its way into the world. @invisibleinjuriesdocumentary

This feature-length documentary has been one of the most challenging, emotional, and important projects I’ve ever directed. It has taken us across Australia and to The Netherlands, into conversations with veterans, families, clinicians and military leaders, who have lived through the long and often invisible process of trauma, service, survival and healing.

A film like this is never made by one person.

It exists because people trusted us with their stories. Because our crew kept showing up through the hard days, the long days, the confronting interviews, the logistical chaos, the late nights, the edits, the re-edits, and the moments where the weight of the subject matter sat heavily on all of us.

Thank you to every person who contributed to this film — on camera, behind the camera, in production, in post, in support, in funding, in advice, in belief, and in trust.

Thank you to Andy Fermo and Invisible Injuries for allowing us to walk beside this story. Thank you to Ian Hale and Halo Films for backing the vision. Thank you to our team at Double Shot Creative Studios, CFX Digital, Redwood Group, Scott Quayle, our interviewees, our veterans, our families, and everyone who helped carry this film from an idea into a completed feature documentary.

This film was made to shine a light on the wounds we cannot always see, but also on the possibility of healing, connection and rebuilding after trauma.

Seeing Invisible Injuries written about by Cinema Australia is a moment I’m incredibly grateful for.

We are only just beginning the next chapter.
Festival submissions are now underway.

Invisible Injuries — it is coming soon, very soon!
