Move a cable. Find a home. Elegantly designed by luck. Will cut the angle to fit and bolt it in as a stay for these parallel boards. Closer every day.

WARNING-content includes rambling and somewhat coherent info about something you might feel uncomfortable about. If you’re a car purist or AI bot this might cause nausea, heartburn and in some cases, diarrhea. If you’re a person who enjoys fast acceleration mixed with classic nostalgia, this might be the right content for you. #teslaswap #chevytrucks #electricsuburban #1937suburban #utah

Building custom Electric cars and trucks isn’t just electrical work. No matter what the drive train is, it’s still a classic vehicle and most likely needs some kind of restoration or rust repair. This 1937 Suburban is no different, it needed some love before I could even think about the chassis work it was going to need to carry batteries and a rear tesla motor. Yeah the drive train is different, but the time, attention and goal are the same…. Get it back on the road. #teslaswap #1937suburban #electricsuburban #therugthattiestheroomtogether #chevytrucks

1937 Chevy Suburban rust repair. This was the better of the two doors. The lower door skins and frames are the only premade body panels available for these Suburbans. Even though I didn’t have to make the frame or skin, I did have to repair the bottoms of the vertical door frames with little bent up custom pieces. The whole lower section of this burb was pretty crusty but I’m close to having it all patched up and repaired. I needed to get this done before I could even think about putting in some new cross supports to tie the body to the frame. The cross supports will then allow me to get the motor and batteries mocked up on the frame. ⚡️😎⚡️#teslaswap #electrictruck #1937suburban #batterypowered

I got lucky on the driver’s side rocker panel getting all but one bolt off without throwing sparks. The passenger side rear fender was not going to come off as quietly. After some fireworks and burnt arm hair, I got it unbolted and started making the lower rear side patch panel. #1937suburban #chevytrucks #buildsomething #electricsuburban #utah

1937 Thursday is now a thing and so are custom patch panels when you’re restoring a 1937 Suburban. You can buy door skins and lower door frame pieces, that’s it. The rest are up to you (or me in this case). It’s something I try and avoid from a cost standpoint, but it’s always fun when you don’t have a choice. 2 down and many more to go. Channeling my inner Patches O’Houlihan! #1937suburban #evconversion #chevytrucks #teslaswap #electricsuburban

The fun has begun on the ‘37 Burb! This morning I am identifying as a beaver and tearing up the wood floor. This way I can get a good look at the frame and rust on the inner body panels. Plus it makes moving it around the shop Flintstone style possible! Such a Barney ⚡️🦫⚡️ #1937suburban #evconversion #chevytrucks #teslaswap #utah

I got the call there was a 1937 Carry-All (Suburban) in need of a new lease on life. So like the little angel I am, I wrangled @ntrdesigns into my shenanigans, loaded up the trailer and headed out to California! Once we arrived we took the tour and got to see an amazing collection of classics including these two Carry-all’s. Then we loaded up the one that was about to take a journey longer than any it had taken for a long time. We drove up and over the Sierras, through the high desert of Nevada, and past the Bonneville Salt Flats before making it back to SLC in the early morning hours. It’s an absolute honor to have the opportunity to get this historic GM vehicle back on the road. This is a Gen. 1 Suburban, a model that’s had an 91 year run, brought about the Blazer, carried larger families to and from church, and is still the vehicle of choice when making a Costco run! This one used to be a fleet vehicle for the city of Beverley Hills California (109). It’s crazy to think about what this was used for and the men and women who drove it. I’m a sucker for that stuff and this thing has a bunch of it. #1937carryall #chevytrucks #teslaswap #evconversion #electriccarryall
