“Purple Doors” ⭐️🪩💜 OUT JUNE 20TH ITS DANCING TIMEEE! I’m so excited to release the lead single to my EP “62010”, Im stepping into my “dischlo” era (lol) Every step of this process has brought me joy and taught me so much, I learned how to play new instruments, got better at improvising and trusting my musical intuition, sung without any autotune, and most importantly I am incredibly happy with the way the final project turned out! Fashion model Ola Jayeola @it_olaofficial in Painter’s Shirt hand painted by RT in pure indigo; organic handwoven muslin scarves. The indigo that was used to eco dye the fabric was sourced organically and collected from Rangpur, Bangladesh. The word ‘Rong’ translates to ‘Colour’ in Bengali and pronounced as Rong. ‘Pur’ translates to ‘Place’ in Bengali, which makes the name ‘Colour Place’ well-known for cultivating indigo (Neel- blue). The lolcals called this colour Rong, from the term Rong is where the name Rongpur (today Rangpur) originated. The pain and horror of this part of history still remains with few Neel Kuthis (building meant for indigo processing, trade, and management). Only recently, indigo is being produced commercially in this region again. In RT models are art. The footprint already existed when the garment was made by me; now it becomes theirs. Walking barefoot on the runway allow their soles to carry the work forward, grounding the piece in presence, care, and bravery. It is a reminder of the patience it takes to love and for the planet, especially when creating organic fabric. This is a statement brand. Model and photographer, Khary Safari @thedancingphotographer on rollerskates is wearing Upcycled Contemporary Multipurpose Umbrella Outerwear. The concept of umbrellas as shelter wear sparkled when reflector gears were always required but left behind on photoshoots by me back in university, not to mention, finding umbrellas abandoned after being slightly broken to land in utter chaos. “Umbrellas exist to protect.” I started my footprint of collecting broken umbrellas and their stories by the donors to provide them a second life in a timeless collection by RT. Baby steps for the world. The colours in the jacket were to represent the flag of Bangladesh and coincidentally echo the flag of Palestine, adding a layered cultural resonance. Presented motion on rollerskates, the look challenges traditional runway norms and proves that fashion can be practical, contemporary, environmental, and symbolic. This is a statement brand.
