POSTS STORIES REELS TAGGED
I’ve been putting off posting about this for weeks not because I didn’t want to but....I don’t think I had the words.

On the 28th of June, I hosted my very first event. 🥹

For context, I run a community called The Ink House, a home for writers who want to grow intentionally through accountability, learning, and community. And this was our inaugural gathering.

What’s funny is that none of this was part of the plan. The Ink House exists because, a little over a year ago, a boy broke my heart. I was carrying around so much pain and grief and misery that I didn’t know what to do with it, I didn't know how to live with myself so I started writing on Substack. It became my way of surviving, of making sense of things I couldn’t say out loud.

And apparently, I wasn’t the only one. People found my words and felt seen. Conversations started. Connections formed. And somewhere along the way, I realized there were so many people who had stories to tell but lacked the structure, accountability, encouragement, or community to keep going.

So I built one. A year later, that tiny idea became a room full of writers. People who had only known each other through screens were laughing together, writing together, learning together, and leaving as friends.

There were moments during the event when I simply paused and looked around the room because I couldn’t quite believe it was real.

Pulling this off was one of the hardest things I’ve done this year. There were sponsorship emails. Countless phone calls. Last-minute changes. Tiny victories. Big worries. Moments I wondered if anyone would even show up. But they did and somehow, this little dream of mine became something much bigger than me.

To everyone who attended, volunteered, spoke, sponsored, encouraged, and believed in The Ink House before there was proof it could become this, I say a biggg thank you. You helped build something beautiful.

This is only the beginning.

Here’s to more stories, more writers, more rooms filled with people brave enough to put their hearts into words.

Last slide - the karaoke - was my favorite part of the event. 🤭
