Volunteering @ Hypnosis made for a long night. Hiking in and out, sweating and dealing with winds blowing things all over the place, bugs & more bugs. No other place I rather be on a Saturday night. Seeing friends as they pass through and helping runners survive the dessert heat while running in pitch dark was totally worth pulling an overnight shift.

Austin’s Memorial Run was absolutely everything I’d hoped for and so much more. I still don’t have words yet, except that my heart feels like it’s simply overflowing. Sounds cliche, maybe…but I mean every word.
I did my best to tag everyone here, but the photos and videos are still rolling in, so I hope you’ll forgive me if I share a bit more over the next couple of days.
Over 70 PEOPLE showed up in person.
Most I’d met before, some I hadn’t. Friends came from Las Vegas, Albuquerque, East Mesa, Surprise, Gila Bend, Tucson, Maricopa, Gold Canyon…so many places.
For us.
For Austin.

For now, I’ll just say THANK YOU.

Black Canyon 2026 ✌️
Done and very dusted! The weekend was a huge success for team @risingmountainscoaching - and my athletes sent it so hard!
@atomicbackyard finished a first 50k and was still chatty at the end!
@n2dwld set a 50k PR - only 2 months after his first one!
@phx1ddg set a 100k PR and also ran the BC 50k complete the Echo Challenge. I got to pace him to his 100k finish - more in that soon! 🫶

RMC athlete @noel_ultra_runner snagged a WSQ + Echo finish with the support of his longtime coach @theyogini_runner

I spent day 1 with my athlete/friend @jeffthedivinerunner and both days scheming and dreaming with co-coach Nicole.

Point to point races are chaos, especially with 2k people over 2 days, but my cup is full! Now can someone please come clean my car? 😆

After running @mesamarathon half yesterday, I drove home, showered, ate, wore my compression boots for a bit, then headed out to volunteer at the Table Mesa aid station during the @blackcanyonultras 100k.
This crew was AMAZING to work with. Just like last year, I found my little spot at the stove and made quesadillas and grilled cheese like there was no tomorrow. 😂
I saw all kinds of friends new and old and @stewart.ruthm made me laugh so hard I almost wee wee’d my pants about 3 times.
I lost a hub cap on the dirt road when leaving the aid station because that road is wild 😜
It was quite the night. 🫶

I finished! That was quite an adventure but I got it done. It was so nice to see old friends and make new ones and spend time with @trucoachlisa and the #trutribe team. @focus.church.az 's first marathon outreach for the inaugural @phxmarathon ! We came, we game planned, and served the socks off the half and full marathoners. I'd say we crushed it 🎉💪🏾 Thanks to everyone who was a part of it. This truly couldn't have been done without y'all ❤️🎉😃

Congratulations to @fungoddammit for finishing Javelina Jundred in October and earning his second 100k buckle! His day was all about the journey, and Mike traversed most of the race side by side with his brother. He worked through some rough patches and finished strong enough to drop his pacer (when she had headlamp issues)!

Coach @palindrome_rnr is privileged to have witnessed Mike’s journey since he first took on Javelina in 2021. Bearing witness to years of training means seeing his evolution as both an athlete and human. Mike has lifted many others up along his way, and that is the heart of this sport. ✌️

Javelina Jundred 100 miles ✅ Happy Medal-Buckle-Monday! 😊🎉
This was my second time running this distance, and it was truly an unforgettable experience in so many ways. I had some ankle pain leading up to race day and was a bit worried, but thankfully everything went well. 🙏🏼
There were countless memorable moments (as expected after 25 hours out in the desert 😂), but the best part was feeling all the love and support from our amazing running community! It was so great seeing so many friends out there running, volunteering, crewing, and cheering each other on. ☺️🙌🏼
This year, I also carried a small photo “In Memory of” my friend Mark, who paced me the last time I ran this race. Having his picture with me reminded me of the kindness and wisdom he always brought to every run. I thought of him often out there in the desert, and it brought me motivation to keep moving forward. 🙏🏼
A very special and heartfelt thank you to my friends and pacers, Marco and Naoko. Marco joined me for loop 4, and Naoko for the final loop. Their support, laughter, and presence meant the world. I deeply appreciate everything they did to be out there for me. Words can’t express how grateful I am and will always be. 🥹
And last but not least, a huge thank you to my husband for his endless support. I know it’s not easy to do everything he does to support this crazy hobby of mine, but he does it so selflessly. Thank you for always believing in me, even when I doubt myself. 🥰♥️
