On Saturday 30 May, we’re gathering for the first edition of Paint Jam, an easygoing afternoon where old vinyl records get a new life through colour, rhythm, and play.

We’re especially excited to be doing this one with @funkevism , who’ll be setting the tone with soulful grooves, warm R&B, and a little bit of funk in the room while we paint. Think bold colours, easy conversation, good energy, and the kind of afternoon that moves at its own pace.

Feel free to drop by anytime between 14:00 and 17:00, stay for a while, paint at your own rhythm, and let the music carry you a little.

No pressure, no perfection, just a laid-back Saturday filled with sound, colour, and creative flow.

Op zaterdag 30 mei komen we samen voor de eerste editie van Paint Jam, een ontspannen middag waarin oude vinylplaten een nieuw leven krijgen door kleur, ritme en speelsheid.

We vinden het extra leuk om dit samen te doen met @funkevism, die de sfeer zal brengen met soulful grooves, warme R&B en een vleugje funk terwijl we schilderen. Denk aan sterke kleuren, fijne gesprekken, goede energie en zo’n middag die helemaal op zijn eigen tempo mag bewegen.

Voel je vrij om binnen te lopen wanneer het je uitkomt tussen 14:00 en 17:00, blijf even hangen, schilder op je eigen ritme en laat je een beetje meenemen door de muziek.

Man, I'm still on a high from my 30th birthday 1.5 weeks ago!

Anyone that knows me knows that planning isn't my forte, so when I had the idea of actually throwing a party, I had no idea how it'd turn out. But thankfully I've been blessed with some special people in life that made it everything I could ask for.

@eliselhofman came in super clutch by giving me the opportunity to host the party at one of my favorite locations in Amsterdam @zokuamsterdam The rooftop at Zoku is always a vibe, any time of day, and I honestly couldn't have asked for a better location to have spent this night!

My brother @dioradel voluntarily managed the whole night to the tee. I could write a million words about how much what you did meant to me. Especially grateful for you not listening to me when I said I didn't need to decorate 😅 and coordinating with the bros Quincy and Jorginho to surprise with the decorations and the Polaroid camera to help document the night. I walked in SHOCKED. All those things changed the night entirely. I'm hella thankful for ya'll.

To have a party, you gotta have music, especially if you're Sam (if you know you know😅😂) and man, @funkevism you knocked it out the park with the vibes your brought. I'm so happy I witnessed you DJ the month prior at the work event. I knew from that first party that you know how to play the music that really hits my soul and turns me up. And as you see in the video, I was on one for the whole night😂 From 90s r&b, to salsa, to dancehall, to rap, to merengue, you did it all!

Going to end with thanking all of my friends that showed up that night. I can go on and on about all of you. From Lila bringing out the ox costume (you can explain that one😂) and doing a really thoughtful gesture to help me post-party hangover, to Vincent and Robin gifting me another t-shirt that had me bent over in tears (laughing tears). There's so much I can say from that night, but I probably shared with you all already how much I love you or how much you mean to me. And despite how drunk I was, I mean every word.

Men! We love you! It’s all jokes of course! ❤️🥹 But can you blame us for putting ourselves in the spotlight?

On a more serious note. A lot of people ask me the same question: why only focus on Women? Actually, a succesful (male) business owner asked me a fair question: “why would you rule out half the population to be your customer?”. If you point it out like that, it’s sounds like a choice with a negative impact on revenue. But here’s the thing that he can not understand: Women need to support each other. We live in a man’s world. Meaning, men are always one step ahead because that’s how our society is built. A women’s voice in meetings is often overlooked. By simply being a man, you already have the authority and credibility that most long for. So this seemingly insignificant act of shelving women’s records above men’s, to me, means we give ourselves a little push. Just one step ahead to catch up with the other half of the population.
