[Christian Metal + City Pop + Black/Doom + Country Gospel]
September 10th at Bunk Bar in Portland, Oregon.
And this is actually the last show -the very last night of our USA tour.

This is not a church show.
This is an event where we get to play alongside local artists from Portland.
This is a show out in the wild, right in the heart of the Portland music scene.

We love playing Christian festivals, but for this show, we want to become a part of the Portland music scene.

We love the Pacific Northwest.
We love these liberal cities.

And maybe that's because we're from Japan.
As Japanese people, we feel strangely at home in this part of America for so many reasons.

We have a different mission from many other Christian bands based in the USA, because we come from a completely different cultural context and background.

Our music is rooted in traditional hard rock and heavy metal from the 1970s and 1980s.
But the true essence of our music also comes from the latest indie noise and experimental sounds born in the underground Japanese music scene.

This is new territory for us to conquer.
And this Japanese band, Imari Tones, is ready to go there.

The lineup is awesome.

We have MeeyanPunch, a wonderful Japanese artist based in Portland.
So it's going to be like a little "Japan Night."

We have BAE, who play a truly unique blend of black metal and doom rock.

And we have our friend Funky Sunday Party, bringing their own mix of Christian rock, country&blues.

And there's us Imari Tones.
Bringing you the pure joy of 80s metal, mixed with all the Japanese goodness.

This is a multinational, multiracial, multicultural event, bringing together different kinds of music.

We want to show you something:
real peace and harmony,
forgiveness and love,
and a true kind of diversity.

The kind of diversity that can only happen when different people, cultures, ideas, and sounds come together in a place like Portland.

And from here, we want to bring that message of peace to the world.

In the name of rock 'n' roll, we can come together as one.
We still believe that music can unite people.

See you soon!
God bless you all!

Tour Diary 5, 6 and 8

It didn’t take us long after the tour started to realize that it would be impossible to post everything we experience every single day in a timely manner. That’s why the numbers in this Tour Diary are a little out of order.

I’ll probably write about everything that happened after the tour is over and we’re back in Japan. But for now, I wanted to write down some thoughts while they’re still fresh.

From Pennsylvania, through the Midwest, all the way to Salt Lake City, so many people have helped us along the way.

As a band, this isn’t our first time touring in the United States. Through our journey as Japan’s first Christian metal band, we’ve seen both the good and the bad. We’ve seen both sides of the music scene, Christianity, and America as a country.

But somehow, on this tour, we’ve been seeing the good side of America.

I believe that, through God’s guidance, He is showing us the very best of America.

Over the past ten years, I think we had lost some of our trust in America for various reasons. And in some ways, the same could be said about Christianity itself, and even about rock and roll.

But this time, as we’ve visited states across the Midwest and traveled through the American heartland, we’ve met so many amazing people. Every one of them has been a great person of faith.

They haven’t simply helped us with our tour. It’s been something much bigger than that.

They’ve helped us understand America.
And they’ve helped us understand God.

Once again, I feel like I’m beginning to regain my trust in God’s plan.

America is great. This country may be hurting right now, but it still has incredible strength and potential.

And I believe that strength is rooted in its Christian faith and legacy.

As Japanese people, we’re thinking about what we can do for these people and for this country.

But I’m sure God’s plan is much bigger than anything any of us could imagine.

By the way, this is a photo from when we filmed some footage for a samurai movie in the mountains near Salt Lake City.
I’m sure it’s going to become an epic music video.

Today, we want to say thank you to:

Tour Diary 1
August 19-20

After spending two full days and more than 20 hours in total on flights, we finally arrived at Rochester Airport, where we met our tour partner, Scott Edward Jones (a.k.a. Funky Sunday Party).

It has been two years since we last saw him on our 2024 tour.

First of all, I want to say THANK YOU to everyone for your support.

After we posted our message video from Portland Airport yesterday, several people sent us support through PayPal and Bandcamp.

Kenshin is now experiencing America for the very first time.

Every moment is new to him, and he is amazed by everything he sees. Watching him experience all of this makes everything feel fresh and new to us, too.

The Scott we are with now is not the same Scott we knew two years ago. He has always been a passionate person, but I think he has grown spiritually.

He is still hurting from the loss of Willy, his faithful service dog and longtime friend. Even so, he is trying to be an even more faithful Scott than before, faithful to God.

In order to make this tour successful, it is important for us to become one as a team. We need teamwork.

None of us are perfect. As artists, we are not always emotionally or mentally stable.

That is exactly why we need to support one another.

And we need God's help.

We may be weak, but God is strong. We cannot make it through this tour without relying on God.

After arriving in Erie, Pennsylvania, even though we were exhausted, we checked our gear, went shopping at Walmart, and then went to Lake Erie to watch the sunset.

Lake Erie is so huge that if you didn't know better, you would probably think it was the ocean.

The guitar amp worked fine, although the Bass knob is acting a little strange. You may not believe this, but I have been using this very same amp since our band's first US tour in 2009.

The bass amp is compact, but it is very versatile and sounds great.

This morning, Scott and Kenshin are going out to get a drum kit. We will use it for tonight's backyard party and Sunday's show at Philly On The Rocks.

PORTLAND, OREGON!!!
This is going to be a very special night.

September 10th at Bunk Bar
The final show of our upcoming USA tour.
For the first time, we will become part of the Portland music scene.
From there we're going to spread the message of LOVE.

Japanese Christian Metal – Imari Tones
Black Metal / Doom Rock – BAE
Japanese Jazzy City Pop – MeeyanPunch
Country Gospel – Funky Sunday Party

No matter where you're from. No matter what you believe. No matter what kind of music you play. Everyone is welcome.

Nationality, language, skin color, religion, political views, age, rich or poor...
None of it matters tonight.
Because we believe in the power of music. Because we believe in the power of LOVE.
Together we unite and we make one big noise which is rock'n'roll.

We are a Christian metal band with a strong religious message.
Yet we believe in diversity, tolerance, forgiveness and acceptance.

Once again let me say this.
We don't believe in politics.
We believe in LOVE.
And we believe in GOOD MUSIC♫

Did you know...?
A Christian heavy metal band from Japan is actually a representation of diversity.
From the moment we started playing Christian music, we were different without even knowing it.
Maybe that's why we are not afraid to be different.

So we say this message once again very loud.
Let us love one another.

+
We're also incredibly excited to share this night with @meeyanpunch a wonderful Japanese artist based in Portland.

This isn't just another concert.
This is a celebration of unity, friendship and unconditional love.

It's a little "Japan Night" in the Portland summer.
It's a collision of cultures that nobody could have planned.
It's heavy metal, black metal, city pop, country gospel, Japan, America, faith, friendship, and rock & roll—all in one room.

From the Pacific Northwest to the world, we'll bring the heart of Japan, the message of the Gospel, and the loudest love we know how to make.

Let's make history together.

"A Backyard Party: Private show invitation"

In August, our tour starts from Erie, Pennsylvania.
Erie is a beautiful town near Lake Erie.
The reason we start our tour from there is because it's our tour partner's hometown. Our good friend Funky Sunday Party (Scott Edward Jones) is from Erie.

Back in 2024, we visited Erie for the first time and we instantly fell in love with the nice little town.
We made many friends. And we decided to do something special for them. That was a "Backyard Show" at Scott's.
It was something spontaneous. It was not planned. It was not an official show.
But it was fun. It was very special.

We have heard all the stories from rock legends.
All those great American bands in rock history, they all played this kind of "Backyard Parties" in their early days.
To us, those stories were like a fairy tale because that kind of crazy party is unthinkable in Japan.
And now we are playing this "American Backyard Party"? We felt like we were in a movie.

Surely, it was NOT the biggest show we've ever played. Equipment was limited, the sound was not really the best, but I think we delivered.
We will post some movies soon. So you tell me. (Maybe the whole show on YouTube.)

And the good news is...
We are playing this Backyard Party again!!!

August 21st Friday, Erie PA
"Private Show" 6PM to 10PM
YOU'RE INVITED😀
(Maybe we play 7pm or 8pm?)

Yes we have another show in Erie, August 23 at Philly On The Rocks, but this one is something special and different. Because it's a house party!

We party, meet people and hang out, enjoying great food and music.
At the same time, we are raising funds for the tour. We really appreciate your support!
(Because we drive all the way from Pennsylvania to Oregon!)

If you are interested, please contact Scott a.k.a. Funky Sunday Party😀 @funkysundayparty
