Please check out Dr. Barbarino’s latest publication featured in the Journal of Drugs in Dermatology as a contributing author on an expert consensus paper on safer, smarter HA filler care: Risk Factors Associated with HA Filler-Related Delayed Complications.

Research. Safety. Innovation. This is what raising the bar in aesthetic care looks like. Thank you to my amazing colleagues who contributed🙌🙌🙌 & @jcohenderm who led our pack🫶🫶🫶🫶

This past week, I had the opportunity to join the inaugural XEOMIN Steering Committee with Merz Aesthetics at their North American headquarters in Raleigh, North Carolina.

Two days alongside physician colleagues and leaders in aesthetics - there were just TEN of us, exchanging ideas about advocacy, education, and peer engagement on a national scale.

For me, the most meaningful conversations always come back to the same principles: treating with intention, knowing the science behind the product, and choosing to ‘do no harm’ to our patients. This means reaching for a purified neuromodulator — @xeominaesthetic 💉— without any unnecessary complexing proteins.

I’m grateful to @merzaesthetics_us for the invitation and for the opportunity to contribute in a room full of some of the greatest thought leaders in aesthetics. Coming home inspired, with new perspectives to bring back to my patients at SozaMD 👩🏻‍⚕️

A weekend at Merz HQ with some of the brightest minds in aesthetics, talking about the future of Xeomin 💙

Because I approach aesthetics through a wellness and longevity lens, I’m always thinking about lifetime exposure - for my patients and for myself.

Xeomin is a neurotoxin that is uniquely purified without unnecessary complexing proteins, which may help minimize immunogenic potential over time.
Purity, performance, and a toxin chosen with your future in mind ✨

I’ve been using Xeomin since it launched in 2011 and continue to love the results. I plan on getting my tox 💉and staying wrinkle-free for a very long time, so keeping my immune system happy is important. Because resistance to non-purified toxin is real 🫪

Thank you @merzaesthetics_us for bringing this incredible group together.

👉Have you noticed your tox 💉doesn’t work like it used to?

They say never stop learning. We took that personally. 🧠

Every certification, every training, every new device—we invest in it so you don’t have to wonder if you’re getting the best. In aesthetics, staying comfortable means falling behind, and that’s just not how we do things.

The trends change. Anatomy doesn’t. Skill matters.

We think we know vascular occlusion. But what do we actually know?

The uncomfortable truth? How many of the “facts” we repeat—and even publish—are built on false certainty rather than robust evidence?

The problems run deep:

📊 If our data are incomplete, duplicated, underreported, or misdiagnosed, can we genuinely quantify the risk?

🌍 Can that change until we rethink how complications are reported worldwide… and even how we examine patients before we ever pick up a syringe?

❓And perhaps the biggest question of all...

Is what we call a vascular occlusion even an occlusion?

At SEASON London, we tackle the uncomfortable questions. We challenge dogma, scrutinise the evidence, and debate the issues that shape safer clinical practice.

The SEASON difference?

This discussion brings together experts not only in aesthetic medicine, but also in vascular anatomy, immunology, tissue engineering, ethics, statistics, and all the wider scientific disciplines needed to truly understand complications.

Because the answers don’t come from one perspective.

They come from seeing the whole picture.

If you’re prepared to question assumptions, think critically, and leave commercial narratives at the door...

You belong in this room.

🔥 It happens at every SEASON meeting. You walk into the room and realize you’re sitting right next to the people whose papers you’ve read, whose techniques you’ve adopted, and whose work has shaped modern aesthetic medicine.

Not from the back row.
Not on a giant screen.
Not watching passively in a dark auditorium.

You’re learning with them.🚀

Asking questions.
Discussing cases.
Sharing ideas.
Seeing how they think, not just what they do.

For 3 days, SEASON brings together an extraordinary faculty of global leaders in plastic surgery, dermatology, anatomy, ultrasound, safety, and regenerative medicine

All in an intimate learning environment designed for meaningful interaction.

The result?

🌟 Practical pearls you’ll use in clinic on Monday.
🌟 A deeper understanding of anatomy and safety.
🌟 And a roadmap to becoming a more confident, evidence-based practitioner.

SEASON is more than a conference.

It’s 3 days dedicated to aesthetic mastery.

Back in February, I had the opportunity to attend the Merz Napa Elevate Summit with @merzaesthetics 💉✨

It brought together injectors from across the country to learn, collaborate, and share techniques. Between cadaver labs, live injections, and hands-on workshops, I loved meeting new people while also getting to catch up with so many friends and colleagues in the industry.

A big focus of the summit was biostimulation, specifically using Dilute and Hyperdilute Radiesse with and without Belotero Balance (HA Filler). There were also discussions around neurotoxin resistance and why Xeomin can be such an effective option for resistance patients.

I’ve loved being able to bring this knowledge back to the @nm_aestheticswellness team. We’re always focused on continuing education so we can keep evolving and provide the best care for our patients.

I am also one of the few Max Studio Trainers and Studio Pop Up Locations for Merz Trainings in the US!
