PAT’S COMBO. SPAGHETT & FERNET. HAPPY HOUR. 4-6:30 TUES-SAT.

Even though Pat doesn’t work here anymore, you still might find him at the bar drinking the Baltimore beer spritz, The Spaghett. We pour out some High Life into a sidecar, replace it with Aperol and Lemon Juice right in the bottle, and serve it with a shot of Fernet… just how Pat likes it. Happy Hour is 4-6pm Tuesday through Saturday. Get the burger too.

Thailand post 1/3: Bangkok 🇹🇭

We don’t normally post travel blogs on here, but we just got back from the trip of a lifetime. We had the opportunity to join a group of artists and curators on a trip through Thailand, led by artist @emonsurakitkoson .
We started and ended our trip in Bangkok, and what a city.

We were completely mesmerized by the colors, the food, the temples, the hospitality, the art. The way traffic flowed like water, and the old blended with the new.

One highlight was getting to visit Roong Aroon International School, tucked into the woods. We learned about some of the traditional techniques they’re preserving, from making gesso with tamarind seeds and pigments from the earth to sculpting with clay dug from the bottom of their own pond.

Not Pictured: So many corn salads, many of the best meals of our lives, and Merv the cat eating fried chicken skins.

Last Saturday night, @lost_origins_gallery was given the honor of participating in the European Union's "State of the Arts" celebration as part of America's 250th. We set up a table packed with prints from @mountpleasantsidewalkasronomy, @etkeeling 's Punk Comics, & a rare few prints from my own archives.

@marajscheele & I spent the evening engaging with guests about the gallery, our programming, & our approach to exhibitions. It was an incredible night.

Massive thanks to @swissmisstral for including us & @jo0oliette for being the hostess with the mostest!

2026 Thailand 1/3: The People
My favorite thing about the trip was The People. Travel creates an opportunity to see how other people live. Some sweet relational moments not captured in photo are receiving free extra mangosteen from a woman at the Sathorn Bangkok fresh market, children chasing after me for high fives and a playful headbonk to my elbow from another neighborhood kid, the master teacher at Roong Aroon showing us his materials, tools, and student work.

Shoutout to lovely artists and creatives from the DMV (+ Philly) I got to get to know better, what a gift to spend time with you all. I have a new bucket-list life goal and it’s to continue to pester Chris Chen about publishing a photo book/catalog.

The Thai people were gracious hosts. Em’s ability to make a friend out of everyone she meets is amazing to witness. Taxi drivers, bartenders, servers alike all dawned laughs within minutes.

Among the group, many of the conversations we had throughout the trip were about how to adapt and keep making work, on the other side of the same coin we are more sure of ourselves than we were in our 20’s. An artist’s lifestyle is not easy and evermore important to understand; Artists help artists.

Thank you Emon for dreaming up this trip to Thailand. I feel lucky to have been included!

Thailand post 2/3: Chiang Mai 🇹🇭🌿

After Bangkok, we traveled north to Chiang Mai, where we were immediately struck by how lush and green everything was. Plumeria and banyan trees filled the old city, and palms, ferns, and mosses seemed to cover every surface as we made our way into the mountains.

When we arrived at our guesthouse, our hosts greeted us in the big open-air kitchen with tea and a bowl of mangosteens. The Lanna architecture blurred the boundaries between inside and outside, with open walls flowing into gardens and courtyards.

Every morning, they cooked an incredible breakfast of regional specialties like khao soi, alongside fresh fruit and coconut custards wrapped in banana leaves.

One major highlight was a trip into the hills for a workshop in Khian Thian, a traditional wax-resist drawing technique. The Hmong women who hosted us were incredibly warm and generous, welcoming us into their village and sharing their craft with us. All around us were breathtaking views of the mountains, with emerald rice terraces disappearing into the clouds.

We saw so much art throughout our time in Chiang Mai, from local markets and artisan villages to galleries and a night of traditional Thai dance. There was an incredible sense of craft everywhere we went, and such a vibrant, thriving community of artists and artisans.
