Communion: Soft Archive Vol. 5

We move in ways that remember more than we’ve been taught.
A lean. A listening. The pause before laughter.
No script, no pose... just the hum of being with.

Not everyone here knows each other.
But the air still holds a kind of knowing.
Like a room that remembers how it held you,
even after you’ve gone.

We’re not archiving faces.
We’re keeping trace of something quieter:
the way joy lands softly on the shoulder,
the way care travels without a sound,
the way time stretches when someone sees you, truly.

This isn’t a sequence.
It’s a weaving.
Each frame a thread of warmth, of witness,
of what it means to be held, without being claimed.

No spotlight.
No statement.
Only signals:
a curl of hair backlit in the morning,
a hand reaching for another,
a shared stillness before movement begins again.

Here, family isn’t defined.
It’s revealed through presence.

We call it soft.
But it’s also power.
To show up like this,
to stay,
to trust.

If you feel something as you look,
you’re part of it too.

The after photo: *better than the before BTW _ Thank you to all the heads who turnt up for @rickwade1986 @KeepitDeep! If you caught it, you caught some history. Detroit —> MPLS Rick has been in it since the beginning & is truly genuine... His set made a great party exquisite & his stories of early Detroit, working with Mike Huckaby at the record shop to getting a mixtape from a skinny deadlock kid named Theo Parrish will always stick w/ me. Much <3 from @nicewonrecordings and we’ll SYOTDF soon!
