International Youth Summit
The 6th Edition of Future Action Summit
📍 Sydney, Australia
🗓️ 3rd-6th December, 2026
RESULTS ARE OUT! 🔥

POSTS STORIES REELS TAGGED

Sometimes, the story is bigger than the moment.

And sometimes, your role is to help people see it.

I had the opportunity to collaborate on the digital content for @hoopswithgift 2026, capturing the energy, people and moments that made the experience more than just a game.

What stood out to me was the sense of community. Young people showing up, connecting, competing, expressing themselves and simply enjoying a space where they could belong.

That, to me, is where the SDGs become real.

Beyond the global targets and conversations, they are also about creating healthier communities, encouraging participation, promoting inclusion and giving young people opportunities to connect and thrive.

As an @echochangeofficial Global Change Ambassador, I am learning to recognise these moments and amplify the stories behind them.

And as a digital communicator and storyteller, I get to turn those moments into something people can see, feel and remember.

Because good storytelling does more than document a moment.

It gives people a reason to care. 🌍🏀

POV: You applied for an opportunity in Malaysia… and actually got the FULLY FUNDED spot! 🇿🇦✈️🇲🇾

My Future Action Summit experience was one of those opportunities that reminded me: sometimes you just have to APPLY. 🙌🏽

From connecting with changemakers from around the world, learning about new approaches to sustainable development, representing South Africa 🇿🇦 and being recognised as a Future SDG Champion 🌱 — I came home with SO much more than memories.

And the best part? The goal was never just to go.

It was to LEARN → CONNECT → COME HOME → MULTIPLY. 🔄🌍

So if you’re thinking about applying for FAS, PLEASE DO IT! Your story, your community work, your ideas and your vision matter — you don’t have to have everything figured out.

Your next YES might be on the other side of an application you almost didn’t submit. 🫶🏽

GO. APPLY. SHOOT YOUR SHOT. 🌍🔥

The character development I’ve gone through in the past few weeks deserves its own post. 😌

I had heard about the illusion of having it all figured out, but first-hand experience has its own charm.

Here’s the thing.

We often see the finished product: the beautifully designed announcements, the carefully curated agendas, the speakers, the photos and the seemingly effortless execution.

What we don’t see is… everything in between. 😅

Having organised summits before, I sometimes think, “Okay, we’ve done this before. We’ve got this.”

And then something happens.

A decision needs revisiting.
A plan needs reworking.
Something you thought would take an hour takes three days.

And suddenly, your perfectly thought-out plan has a personality of its own.

Every time, I’m reminded of just how many decisions, people and strategies it takes to turn an idea into something people can actually experience.

It has also made me appreciate the process in a completely different way. You see, the people behind it, the problem-solving, the unexpected hiccups and everything that never makes it to the final post.

That’s exactly where we are with @futureactionsummit — Sydney Edition. 🇦🇺

There’s a lot happening behind the scenes right now, and I’m really looking forward to seeing this one come together.

With the application deadline coming up on 5 October, I also didn’t want my network to miss this one.

If Sydney has been on your mind, perhaps this is your sign to stop thinking about it and just apply. 😌

Applications are open until 5 October. Apply away!

So, I want to tell you about a conference I went to that I honestly thought would be like any other conference I’d attended before…

But I was completely wrong.

I’m talking about the Future Action Summit, which I attended in Thailand.

And honestly, from the moment I arrived, it was such a great experience.

I got to meet people from different countries, learn from them and be part of so many fun, collaborative activities.

And it wasn’t just four days of sitting in workshops either! 😂 We had city tours, cultural experiences, and so many moments to just connect and have fun.

I came for the Summit, but I left with new friends, amazing memories, and lessons I can actually take back into my work. 💯

So yeah… if you are looking for
Something similar, Future Action Summit is happening in Sydney 3-6 Dec. Time is running so APPLY NOW!

She used to greet people like this. 🐒

One year ago today, the world lost Dr. Jane Goodall: the woman who spent 60+ years proving that one person paying attention could change how we see an entire species.

Her signature "hello" wasn't a word. It was this call. The one chimps use to greet each other. She did it on The Daily Show. She did it for kids at Roots & Shoots. She did it the day I handed her a feather painting of David Greybeard: the only thing she took home from that event.

So on stage at the Future Action Summit, I did it too. To carry it forward.

Her last message to the world was that her greatest reason for hope was young people. If that's true, then the least we can do is actually show up and prove her right.

This is me trying to. 🌿

Rest well, Dr. Jane. We've got it from here.

Leaving Bangkok with a full heart, an inspired mind, and a renewed sense of purpose! 🌏✨

Stepping into my very first summit at the Future Action Summit Bangkok 2026 completely shifted my perspective, sparking an experience that will anchor my journey as a young leader moving forward.

I am deeply grateful to Echo Change @echochangeofficial for entrusting me with this opportunity. From collaborating with brilliant minds on sustainable solutions and social impact to forging deep connections with visionary changemakers across the globe, every single moment reinforced a fundamental truth: youth voices aren’t just part of the conversation — we are the decision-makers driving real action right now. 💡🔥

Reflecting on the incredible workshops, guest speakers, late-night chats, cultural exchanges, and meaningful conversations, I am simply in awe of the momentum we built together and the lifelong alliances formed. Leaving this space isn’t easy, but the mission to create a sustainable tomorrow continues! 🚀🌱

What’s Next? 🇦🇺👇

And just like that, @futureactionsummit is here again! It feels like our time in Bangkok was only yesterday. 🌏

I joined FAS hoping to meet interesting people, learn about what young people around the world are doing for the SDGs, and share a little about my marine conservation work in Shenzhen, China.

🪸Turns out, I got much more than I expected. Some of the people I met are still good friends today. Tommie from Singapore and I talked a lot about innovation and entrepreneurship, and later he even showed me around Singapore, sharing its history and ideas around sustainability. It definitely opened up some new perspectives for me.

I always feel everyone I meet at FAS is like a mystery box of chocolates 🍫 you never know what story, idea, friendship or adventure is waiting inside.

I was also lucky to receive a full FAS scholarship. For future applicants, here are my 3 little tips:
✨ Find the passion that connects your past experiences.
✨ Be specific about what you’ve done and the impact you’ve made.
✨ Don’t only think about what FAS can give you, think about what you can bring to the community.

And once you’re there: talk to people, listen to their stories, and embrace everything. That’s where the magic happens. 🌏✨

FAS is genuinely such a valuable opportunity to meet young changemakers from around the world, learn, connect, exchange ideas and actually be part of conversations around the issues shaping our future.

I’ve shared a little about my own application journey and scholarship experience, but if you’re considering applying, please don’t overthink it. Put yourself out there, tell your story, show your work and give it a shot.

The deadline is approaching, so head over to @futureactionsummit and check out the application details.
