Why are young graduates refusing to join construction roles like takeoff engineering? Entering an industry that relies on software older than the workers themselves holds back career growth and deters top talent. #ConstructionTech #GenZInTheWorkplace #ConstructionIndustry

What an incredible two days at Farnborough! 🌿💚

We had such a great time showcasing our artificial grass range, meeting so many lovely people and connecting with others in the landscaping industry!
A huge thank you to everyone who stopped by for a chat. We absolutely loved being part of it and can’t wait to do it all again!

Here’s a little look back at some of our favourite moments! ✨

A cover appearance and a shortlist to be proud of 💧

We’re delighted to see our Natural Swimming Pond in Kent on the cover of Issue 7 of Pro Landscaper International.

The project was also shortlisted in the Residential Project Under $500k category at the Europe Heat of the 2027 Pro Landscaper International Awards.

It was a pleasure to join fellow finalists at the FutureScape Event in Farnborough last week. While we didn’t take home the award this time, we’re proud to have been recognised alongside such impressive projects from across Europe.

Thank you to Pro Landscaper International, the judges and everyone involved in bringing this pond to life. Congratulations to all the winners and fellow finalists!

Missed my FutureScape talk? Here are three key takeaways.

Why do potential clients love your ideas, seem enthusiastic about working with you… then hesitate to go ahead?

And why might the fee not be the real reason they’re holding back?

These were some of the questions I explored in my FutureScape talk last week.

Drawing on research into client decision-making and indecision, we looked at what’s happening behind that hesitation — and why understanding it matters for garden, landscape and planting designers.

I’ve pulled together three key takeaways in this carousel. 👉 Swipe through.

But there’s much more to the story!

If you’d like to understand more about the research, the psychology behind client indecision and what this means for your design business, you’re welcome to watch the recording of my extended webinar:

“Why Clients Don’t Say Yes… Even When They Love Your Work.”

💬 Comment YES for the details, or head to the link in my bio to watch the recording.

We made our international trade show debut last week at FutureScape UK. Meeting with customers, showing off our landscaping AI, and giving on talk on how we’re changing the industry. #uk #ukconstruction #futurescape

3 different things I took away from FutureScape… and they’re probably not what you’d expect! 🙃

Not business lessons this time, but three rather more personal observations.

From discovering just how tall some of my clients are in real life, to finding an unexpected sanctuary away from the noise.

And realising that preparing a 25-minute talk has quite a lot in common with creating a show garden!

Swipe through for my three takeaways. 🌿

I’d love to know — what stood out for you at FutureScape?

My latest bas relief was on show at FutureScape last week. I have called it ‘Wrapped up in the Story’ because that reflects the composition where everything is wrapped around the man who is lost in his reading. I am an avid reader so I know the feeling well! This work is designed to be outside on a garden wall. @futurescapeevent @amy_futurescape @nicolagodden_sculpture @the_sgld #gardenwall #gardenart #gardendesign #basrelief #sculptorsofinstagram

🏗️ Want us to design your retaining wall? Here’s what we need from you.

A good retaining wall design starts with good information.

To produce an accurate, practical and buildable design, we typically need 4 key things:

📍 1. Site layout
The site location, wall location and proposed wall heights.

🔎 2. Site investigation
Ground conditions, soil information and any available site investigation data.

⚖️ 3. Surcharge & finishing details
What’s happening behind the wall — driveways, buildings, roads, gardens, fencing, slopes and any other loads or finishes.

🧱 4. Retaining wall material choice
The proposed wall system or material, whether that’s blockwork, modular units, gabions, concrete or another system.

The more information we have at the start, the more efficiently we can design the right solution.

At ACJ Retaining Solutions, we can take the project from design → supply → installation, giving you one point of contact from concept through to completion.

📐 Got a retaining wall project coming up? Send us the information and let’s get it moving.
