burning man is always a profoundly personal journey for me. yes, it’s a playground. but what i value most is that it tests everything about who i am, physically, socially, emotionally - what i’m actually capable of. what that means is i’m always a different person coming out of it, and there’s always a version of me i leave behind.

it’s why temple is so important to me - it’s always been my favorite place on playa. it’s where people let things go: family, romances, your past. you’re surrounded by grief and loss and others who know these things well. nothing we love comes without them. here, it’s clear that the end is always built into the beginning.

i always go knowing i’ll leave something at temple before it burns on the last night, without knowing what. the previous time i was on playa, i left a letter trying to leave my fear behind to pursue what i thought i wanted for my partnership, my work, and myself. in the two years since, a lot of what i knew fell apart, and i’ve rebuilt myself.

this year, i had a hard time being moved at temple. each time i went, i didn’t stir. maybe the novelty had worn off, maybe i was too distracted with exhaustion or overwhelm - it was frustrating. but when the time came for the man to burn and it was my last chance to leave something at temple, i wrote three letters: to a friend, to a lover, and to myself. i told myself i’m proud of who i’ve become. that i’ve lost a lot and transformed. that i’m still bruised and unsure, but i have everything i need. i only need courage.

now, with one final look back at my burn, i think i wasn’t so moved at temple this year because i had already moved so much.

Something that always leaves me in awe in the desert is the vastness of the sky and the reminder of the earth. In the desert, the boundary between the two elements fades, and everything exists within their relationship.

No matter how much I prepare, the playa always has something else written for me.

Beautiful chaos. Unexpected surprises. Those ridiculous little aha moments that somehow arrive with such perfect timing, you start to believe everything really is written in the stars, and of course, the naughty playa will deliver it in the most dramatic way possible.

For me, the playa is relational. It keeps teaching me to let go of control, surrender to the unknown, and trust what’s growing when I truly connect with people.

Our whole life is just one big divine comedy. We try so hard to understand it while we’re living it, but in the end, NOTHING MATTERS

The tears. The joy. The heartbreak. The absurdity. One day we’ll laugh about all of it and just be grateful that we fucking got to experience it, TOGETHER

“You might find your way home
You might already be home
After all, there is no place like home.”

We spend so much of our lives wondering where we belong. Who will accept us. Where our roots are. When will we finally go back. But when we find comfort in ourselves, everywhere feels like home.

I started my second burn with the intention to focus on myself more, so solo art adventures, chaotic side quests, quiet temple reflections, and raccoon dance with strangers in deep playa, which somehow led to the most statistically impossible reunion with @romaindbc and @aspirincity in the rain. I literally cannot storyboard this kind of luck out of 70,000 people in a massive desert city yet it is the exact kind of magic this place breeds. To all the beautiful souls and creatures I met navigating the dark, thank you for lighting the way. And to the universe listening and responding to me this burn: THANK YOU. I wished for an Elderbrook set on the playa sometime in the future and the playa spirit listened and gifted me the best surprise three hour @elderbrook sunrise show. Screaming the lyrics and dancing with friends as the sun came up proved that manifestation definitely works sometimes, I guess? Keep on hoping and loving 🥰 #burningman #burningman2026 #axismundi

How close can one approach fire before one is transformed rather than burnt?

“Tokens of Zero” is a monumental installation yet to be placed at the desert of Nevada for the upcoming Burn. Inspired by two burned and transformed sequoias I encountered in Yosemite, the work will consist of two charred figures, each rising approximately 4 metres from the desert.

These trees reached zero distance from fire. Transformed beyond recognition, they remain complete beings, yet appear to us as remnants: tokens of zero.
These trees eliminated their distance from fire entirely: they reached zero. In that absolute proximity, they underwent an absolute transformation, slipping toward and ending in death. Yet they remain complete beings. Burned remnants, tokens of zero.
I am fundraising exclusively for construction materials. Every contribution, regardless of size, becomes part of the installation.
Thank you for helping bring Tokens of Zero to the desert.

We’re so obsessed with these pictures of SWIRL in NYC 🌀 ✨

As part of our Cockerel Con weekend, we gathered new and longtime GlamCocks from all over for a few days of connection, chaos, community, and very little sleep.

Somehow, these photos captured exactly what it felt like: sweaty dance floors, silly moments, beautiful humans, and that special kind of magic that happens when our flock gets together.

Many thanks to our sister camps @campfruitpop @futureturtles and @brcmunicipalpool for getting into the spiral with us. We’re already dreaming about the next one!
