October is National Women’s Small Business Month!⚡️❣️

I started Mesman Media a little over a year ago. One of the best parts about running this business is getting to help so many amazing women get their passions & hard work SEEN by others. Truly a blessing!🤍

How you can support female-owned small businesses this month? There’s so many ways!

❣️Follow their social media and interact with their content
❣️Choose local businesses over larger corporations for the month of October
❣️Sign up for their newsletters, read their blog posts/content, and visit their websites (mine’s in my bio if you wanna check it out😜)
❣️TELL OTHERS ABOUT THEM! Word-of-mouth is SO powerful!

Anyways, forever grateful for this business & the chance to get to tell people’s stories day in and day out. Happy National Women’s Small Business Month to all who celebrate (which should be everyone!)

I’m baaaaaack!🤩💫

If you’ve been around here for a while, you may remember my last post where I shared some pretty big news: we’re expecting a baby in January!🩷🌙

Since then, I’ve taken a bit of a step back from social media. To be real with you guys…we were in the TRENCHES there for a minute. Growing a human while growing a business is NOT for the weak🥴

HOWEVER: I’m so excited to start finding my way back into this little corner of the internet. While I’ve been a little quieter, Mesman Media hasn’t disappeared. I’ve continued working with my amazing clients, and even recently welcomed a new friend to the Mesman Media family (WELCOME TO THE CLUB @organizedhousewife !). Swipe through the post to see some of the work I’ve been doing behind-the-scenes for these awesome businesses the last few months⚡️

As we head into fall, I’m opening my calendar back up for some new projects. If your business needs some digital marketing TLC — whether that’s a website refresh, social media help, signage, writing/editing, or simply someone to help you figure out your marketing strategy — I’d love to chat ✨

Here’s to easing back in, taking on some fun projects, and seeing where this next season takes Mesman Media. Thanks x 100000 for sticking around…I’m so glad you’re here! 🥰

First day of school 2026. ❤️

Avery → Junior year
Weston → 8th grade
Will → Sophomore year at the University of Iowa 🖤💛 (Mom handled this one with significantly fewer tears than last year. Progress. 💪😂)

We got the traditional front-step picture of Avery and Weston, including the official first photo where Weston is taller than Avery.

Will had the easiest first day of all—his first class was online, so his commute was approximately six feet.

Avery’s AP Psych textbook, on the other hand, is apparently trying to take her out before class even starts. 😂 She bent down to say goodbye to the dogs with it in her backpack, lost her balance, and ended up on the kitchen floor. I did what any supportive mother would do and took a picture.

And Weston finally joined the club and drove me to his first day of school. Which also means I have now officially been driven to a first day by all three kids. Apparently my driver’s ed position will soon be done. 😂

Junior year. Eighth grade. Sophomore year of college.

Here we go. Love you three more than anything. Go be great. ❤️

Alaska was breathtakingly beautiful. The kind of beautiful that photos will never quite capture.

But as incredible as the scenery was, I think what I’ll remember most are the moments with my kids and family that are now etched in my brain forever.

The awe of seeing a whale for the first time.
A sunset at 10 PM.
Hearing our voices echo back to us off a mountain.
Laughing, exploring, and experiencing something completely new together.

I know trips like this aren’t always easy to make happen. They take time, money, planning, and usually a little chaos. But they’re so worth it.

And Alison, you are beyond amazing at making things like this happen for the people you love. ❤️

Take the trip when you can. Enjoy your people. Be amazed by things together. Make the memories.

And if you ever have the chance to get to Alaska…do it.

When I started Mesman Media, my main goal was to help small businesses make their presence known. That goal still stands and always will❣️

FutureU has been a loyal client of mine since the beginning, so it feels only right that I share about the amazing work they do. Happy reading, & I hope you’ll consider them for all of your future planning needs!💚

What happens when you mix basketball + life skills + powerful mentors? 👀🏀

This past fall and winter we hosted our Pass It Forward Clinics at @shoot360dsm , bringing together athletes from across the Des Moines area to grow their game and their mindset.

Thanks to the support of the #GainbridgeAssists x @paritynow grant, we were able to combine skill development with sessions on mental performance, financial literacy, and confidence led by amazing local experts.

These clinics also helped spark the launch of @ckpfoundation — the nonprofit arm of CKP Athletics focused on expanding access to sports through scholarships, seasonal support, and lowering the cost barrier for young athletes.

This is just the start. More clinics, more mentors, more opportunities to pass it forward and help raise the next generation on and off the court.

Let’s go. 💜💚
