Y’all… this year’s Misfit Market was one for the books 😮‍💨 Despite the brutal winds and cold temps, YOU SHOWED UP!!!

It is not easy to put these sort of events together nor is it easy to come to an outdoor market when the weather is rough.. so seeing this happen means we all deserve a hug and high five. Thank you so much for your support! Please take a moment to check out these incredible individuals that made this whole thing possible:

This event is only possible because all those folks helped make it come together, put their time in, and shared in my vision for a fun way to create community while celebrating canna consumption being legal in Minnesota! All this coming from a girl who worked at a local smoke shop for almost 10 years selling pipes “for tobacco use only” lol

Can’t believe the success that has come from these Misfit Markets for me and all my friends! Stay cool until the next one y’all 🤙

Happy 4/20 fam!!!

We're back with another Makers Market spotlight! ✨

Alicia De La Cruz is a Two Spirit Ojibwe artist based in Minneapolis, MN. She has been beading since the age of 7 as traditionally taught to her by her aunts and grandma. Alicia creates beaded earrings, beaded hats, and other beaded artwork all with a modern native twist.

Ciara (she/her) is a printmaker based in Minneapolis, Minnesota. Much of her work centers around food and nature — her favorite ways to connect with others. She makes and sells original blockprints on fabric, T-shirts, and paper.

Laura Euller is a Minneapolis artist who brings stories to life through her tiny tapestries and colorful woven goods. Inspired by Flemish tapestry weaving, her whimsical designs bring modern magic back to tapestry.

Natasha Malmberg is multidisciplinary artist based in Minneapolis. She creates one-of-a-kind textile designs using a traditional Japanese marbling technique called Suminagashi. She revitalizes this ancestral craft by turning unique, handmarbled fabrics into handmade apparel and accessories for all. Malmberg also offers handmade embroidered pieces and reworked garments using a vintage chainstitch machine.

Jodi Trotta uses the term "colorful chaos" to describe her work, as she loves taking functional materials and creating something entirely non-functional with them. She uses thrifted or remnant materials as much as possible in her wall art, ensuring each piece is unique (and sometimes a little scruffy).

Tshab Her is a textile artist who creates handmade fabric and beaded earrings under It’s Pronounced Cha. Her creations are inspired by traditional Hmong clothing and made with secondhand materials that bring together her art practice, personal style, and cultural identity.

What's Fiber Art for All? Every February we hold an Open House celebration of all things fiber art, during Minnesota's coldest and darkest season! It's a time to find inspiration, make new connections and "grow community" (our theme of the year)! Try hands-on demos with instructors, visit The Stashery and the Shop, view free exhibitions, and more. We hope to see you Feb 20+21 at Textile Center! Learn more: textilecentermn.org/FAFA

So very soon.

I’m thrilled to be one of the Fiber Artists participating at this year’s Makers Market at @textilecentermn. There’s so many talented artists showing up - I’ve listed just a few here. Check out the line up. I can’t wait.

It’s my last market participation before our baby comes this spring. (Surprise, surprise. Peep the last photos to see pregnant me in some of the only nice pregnant photos I currently have - hahaha.) If you’re hoping to see some punch pieces in person or snag a pair of earrings, this will be your last chance for a little while. 🥲
