Fall moments in the Bloom House front yard! The garden is often in flux because it's a test garden. My responsibility as a designer is to make sure the plants I use work in our climate, work in the garden without being super high maintenance, and generally do what I think they will do when I design with them. That being said, sometimes this garden has holes in it, looks crazy, looks great, is a complete mess! 🤣 Right now I'm happy with it, the colors, the blue evergreens popping against the warm tones and I'm SO EXCITED it's my first year of Fuyu Persimmons!

Floating on a zodiac in the Antarctic Ocean, surrounded by chinstrap penguins and crab eater seals, I realized my dreams were coming true.

I set foot on Antarctic soil, something that has been on my bucket list since childhood, and in that same moment I knew it was time to open Calliope Creative. A space with no gatekeeping. A space where high-quality photography education and gear are accessible, not hidden behind a $5,000 rent paywall.

At Calliope, you will be able to rent professional gear without needing thousands up front. You will learn through micro-classes that empower you to create instead of sitting through semesters of theory that never reach your hands. You will have a place to grow your creativity simply because you love it.

Surrounded by scientists, historians, world travelers, and photographers in Antarctica, I realized this dream wasn’t just mine to hold. It was mine to share. And then, almost like it was written into the ice itself, I got word from Matt at @fvcgallery that the perfect space had opened downtown. My vision since 2019 of an education and rental studio has come alive.

Our first class is already on the calendar to help people grow confident posing and photographing families.

What a time to be alive!!!!!!

Thank you for believing in me, for sharing my posts so this dream can reach farther than ads ever could, and for standing beside me as we build a creative legacy together.

☕✨ Saturday Sips – A Pop-Up Coffee Morning with FVC! ✨☕

There’s something special about starting the day with a really good cup of coffee—and even better when it’s shared with neighbors and friends. This Saturday, we’re thrilled to welcome Matt from FVC behind the bar at Marguerite for a one-day-only coffee experience.

On the menu: a bold Chicory Iced Coffee from India, bright single origins from Colombia and Brazil, and even a sparkling iced tea brewed from cascara—the coffee cherry itself. Each sip tells a story, and Matt has such a gift for bringing those stories to life.

For me, mornings like this are what community is all about—gathering, tasting something new, and slowing down long enough to really enjoy it together. 🌿

FVC Gallery presents: Saturday Sips Series #1: a specialty coffee Popup at Marguerite @margueritewallawalla Saturday Aug 30th 9-2pm.

This first chapter will feature a special Iced Indian Coffee with roasted chicory—creamy, sweet and delicious! It will also be highlighting some wonderful single origin coffees on hand brew—unique coffees from around the world supporting ethical and ecologically minded sourcing from @theroasthouse and @driftawaycoffee

Owner and FVC friend Peggy Frasse does an outstanding job of curating beautiful home goods, local fine wines, and all things culinary.

We are thrilled to be collaborating with her on this event and to present specialty coffee service in an exciting new way—alongside Peggy’s curated contribution to the food and beverage culture of the Walla Walla Valley.

FVC: Freedom Vs Conformity from the FVC Gallery group show “Weirdos in the Weeds” @wallawallabeerparlor up now!

“Freedom” here is used to refer not only to the sovereignty of individuals in a society but also to artistic creativity and personal agency.

We all put parameters on ourselves (often for good reason like a “home” for example or “job” with in society) but creativity teaches us to loosen those restrictions when it comes to personal expression and creative growth.

Interesting art often rides the line between restrictive structures (a square canvas for example) and more open ended and exploratory creative thinking—this is what makes art engaging and interesting to look at.

**THE KEY IS A CERTAIN TENSION BETWEEN CREATIVE FREEDOM & CONFORMING TO GIVEN STRUCTURES/RESTRICTIONS**

Some figure of a Clown is a part of most cultures, globally. They intentionally stand apart from the other members of a culture—often with the use of paint and color which marks them as “other”. We need them however to satirize our societies, to loosen us up, to mock yes but also to teach. They are able to achieve this role by not quite fitting in—very similar to the role of artists in our communities.

FVC Gallery acknowledges the various clowns and creative weirdos of the world and celebrates their contributions to our lives 🤡🤡🤡❤️‍🔥❤️‍🔥❤️‍🔥

FVC GALLERY x WW BEER PARLOR late edition to our group show c/o the homie Daniel Brito from @rollmodelzdocumentary local low rider car club here in Walla Walla.

Bill Weed (WWBP) and I have been longtime low rider fans, especially low rider bikes like this absolute STUNNER! Must see in person to fully appreciate the craftsmanship and attention to detail—everything built custom by Daniel from the frame up—just check out his skills on the airbrush! Swoon worthy…come grab a cold one at the parlor and drool over this 🤤🤤🤤✌🏽✌🏽✌🏽
