POSTS STORIES REELS TAGGED

2 years ago we landed in #adelaide #southaustralia for a fresh start.

It was incredible to pack our suitcases and move to a country we’ve never been to before - to make it our #foreverhome .

We brought our love, our skills, our heritage, our lives and pure faith that if you’re good, the world will always be good to you.

& true to the universe, it’s been such a blessed journey to meet and build our friendships with kindred souls who have helped us create a home.

A home where we celebrate everyone from everywhere, with a bit of kindness for all those who cross our path, and in exchange receive the privilege of becoming part of their lives.

Thank you to all who continue to hold us securely in your love and support - you are a BIG part of our journey.

✨ Meet Samita ✨

One of this year's magical surprises arrived during our Midsummer Celebration ~ and what a beautiful entrance it was. 🤎

Standing four meters tall, Samita is brought to life by artist and performer Felix Norgren. Her papier-mâché head and hands were created in Chile, while the rest of her mechanical body was built here in Sweden. Around half of Samita is made from recycled materials, making sustainability an important part of her story.

But Samita is much more than a giant puppet. She creates moments of wonder. A gentle encounter. A smile. A memory that stays with you long after the festival ends.

A huge and heartfelt thank you to Felix and his son Lino for sharing Samita with the Forest Star family. She brought so much joy, curiosity, and magic to our forest, and we are deeply grateful. 💚🌲

We hope to meet you again, Samita. ✨

Visitors at Silva Festival may be lucky enough to encounter the spectacular marionette puppet Samita.

Samita is an impressive four-meter-tall figure whose journey spans two continents. Her papier-mâché head and hands originate from Chile, while the rest of the mechanical structure was completed here in Sweden. Behind this unique creation is Felix Norgren, who designed, built, and performs her.

Sustainability is at the heart of the project – around half of Samita’s components are made from recycled materials.

But it is in the encounter with the audience that the true art emerges. Those who meet her gaze are met with something deeply captivating – an experience best described as pure magic.

Silva Festival is arranged in collaboration with Musik Hallandia, Region Halland and Sensus with support from the Swedish Arts Council.

Thank you Adelaide secondary school of English for inviting KIRA the Adelaide Giant to celebrate #sarefugeeweek.

Our puppeteers @murrayvstheworld and @rob.c.wells had humongous fun interacting with students from all over the world, reminding everyone to celebrate the stories that contribute to their giant selves.

Big love to @tanya_puppetgirl who helped get KIRA show-ready and @glacial_gracial for housing our giant💖

KIRA is an initiative of the SA Puppetry Network, and was facilitated by @fxpo.se (supported by @swedish_arts_grants_committee) in partnership with @amrc_sa
