As a local @forgingyouthresilience club, we raise funds to support kids from paycheck-to-paycheck families with fitness, mentorship, and life skills.

Warm Up: Head, Shoulders, Knees, and Cone Game Divide athletes pairs. Place a single cone on the floor between each pair of athletes. A coach calls out body parts in random order such as head, shoulders, knees, toes, nose, or eyes. Athletes most quickly touched the matching part on their own body. Without warning, the Coach yells cone instead of a body part. Both athletes race to grab the cone first. The athlete that doesn’t get the cone completes a penalty and then one line of athletes move and get a different partner. This class workout was designed to create a little chaos. To see communication break down, or watch it blossom. To make the kids think about the people waiting on them to finish their part and how their actions affect the whole group. Being athletic is awesome. But learning to communicate, be patient, think about others, and work well with different people will take you even further. We’re here to build more than fitness. We’re building kids who know how to be good teammates and good people. . . . #fyraggieland #forgingyouthresilience #crossfitkids #sawedoffcrossfitkids #inspiringkids

WOD: For Time 50 Burpees Fifty burpees for time is hands down my favorite fitness challenge in this program. The kids grind it out, yell for each other, and roll over to join in with the next person as they finish. They push themselves, but they also make sure no one is doing it alone. So proud of this group every year! . . . #fyraggieland #forgingyouthresilience #crossfitkids #sawedoffcrossfitkids #inspiringkids

Fall Fitness Challenge: Starts October 16 – Ends November 16 For the next month, our athletes will have a chance to challenge themselves both in and out of the gym. The goal is to try something hard, give it another shot, you feel the win when you beat it by :01 or 1 rep, and learn that progress doesn’t always mean getting the score you wanted. Sometimes you come close, fall short, and exceed your expectations. What matters is being willing to try again, keep going, and learn from the experience. Isn't fitness awesome! Athletes are also encouraged to be accountability partners for their teammates. Cheer each other on, encourage someone who is hesitant to try, and help make the challenge something we do together. After November 16, we’ll recognize three athletes: Momentum Award: For the athlete who builds consistency, follows through, and continues to get after it week after week. Most Improved Award: For the athlete who makes noticeable progress. Good Energy Award: For the athlete who encourages others, brings a positive attitude, and helps make the challenge fun for everyone. Dance moves and lots of screaming is highly encouraged. :) This isn’t just about who gets the best score. It’s about learning to stick with something hard, being willing to try again, and becoming the kind of teammate who helps others do the same. . . . #fyraggieland #crossfitkids #forgingyouthresilience #inspiringkids #fitnesschallenge #sawedoffcrossfitkids

There’s something really special about watching kids teach each other. The confidence to share what they know, the patience to help someone learn, and the pride that comes from realizing they have something to offer. Both kids grow from that moment, just in different ways. . . . #fyraggieland #forgingyouthresilience #crossfitkids #sawedoffcrossfitkids #inspiringkids
