KOC Rnd 4 / Season final

1 weekend, 3 bikes and a bunch of fine people.

Felt at peace on the R3, maybe to peaceful. Second race of the day having my personal favorite race so far, the bike told me to stop, snapping the intake camshaft and ending the day.
Wabam, not so fast, the days not over. For the final race Anson lent me his R3. With a different setup to what im used to I was happy to just get out on the track and finish the final race of the season. Cheers @ansonhja

Final race weekend was also a good chance for me to make that next step up and hop on over into a bucket. During the qualifying, I found out they can pop off the gear selector, leaving me stranded in fourth. Sorted it out by the second race. Thanks to the other bucket fellas who knew the issue before I pulled into the pits. This let me race with one of my idols Ryder for the final race before he left me for dust in the final lap.

As its the end of the season I wanna thank everyone and anyone that made it to the track, organized the days, volunteered and and just came out to have a good time. We appreciate that.

Suzuki Series- Cemetery Circuit

A great Christmas present for helicraft racing and myself! I walked away from Whanganui as the first solo woman to ever win in its 74 years.

3rd in race 1
1st in race 2
1st overall supersport 300.

On Christmas day I got my first look at what the circuit looked like, a trackwalk with @mxtyler128 helped me to understand this technical street circuit.

Boxing day
Race 1
After just over a lap, the race was redflagged and ready for a full restart.
At the restart I got a good start and held my line going into 1, emerging into P3. I ran P3 for the whole race, although I had some pressure from Jethro as he worked hard to catch back up. Holding my line and keeping my head in check, I came across the line in P3 for my second podium in the series so far.

Race 2:
Rain! While others stressed, I was quietly stoked. Lining up on the grid, I was focused on what I needed to do. I quickly found myself in P2 early on in the first lap and knew I had the pace to lead. Biding my time to find a safe spot to progress forward, I made a comfy overtake into turn 1 of lap 2 for the lead. The rest of the race I put my head down and concentrated on being smooth, and consistent. I could've sworn I heard bikes behind me for the remaining 5 laps, unknowingly I was 2 seconds a lap quicker than second place, and pulled a 9.9second gap across the line.
Taking the last corner of the race, I let out the breath I must have been holding.

My first major win. The first solo woman to win at Cemetery Circuit.
For those watching from the sides, and online, you can probably imagine how much that meant to me. I still dont think it has fully sunk in.

I walked away from Whanganui winning the Cemetery Circuit Supersport 300 overall, and wrapping up the Suzuki International Series 2nd place overall to @mxtyler128

I was also honoured to win the Ray Whitham trophy for the commentators choice.

I dont think Christmas could have gone any better.
To my team Helicraft Racing I can't thank you all enough.
Thank you to Peter, my biggest supporter.

2025 Greymouth street races

As the weekend has been and gone, I wanted to make a quick post thanking everyone that came out to Greymouth to watch, support, help out and brave the weather even from back home watching the live stream.

Coming into the weekend we expected it to rain all day which it did not disappoint, but not for it to dry up after lunch.

I was a little nervous going into qualifying trying out the combination of new wets and not racing here last year. Good to see plenty of new comers with a total of 28 riders in my class of F3 making for a tricky first few laps.
Qualified in P6.

Race 1 was was a proper wet race. After a tight start and a couple laps of getting used to the racing pace I became more comfortable in the wet and pushed my braking markers. Chasing down Jethro I sent a late brake into turn 5 (hairpin) on lap 3 taking 5th and holding on to the end.

Race 2 after lunch, the track was drying out but still damp in places so everyone opted for wets.
After a poor first 2 laps I was busy battling with the bigger bikes of F3, out braking into the roundabout and everywhere else I could keep my place. I then did myself dirty and went to deep into turn 1 and hairpin dropping positions and eventually coming away in P6.

Race 3 and now time for slicks. A good launch put me towards the front into turn 1. A couple laps go by and I was watching the front 3 dissappear slowly as I didn't quite have the pace. I still had a battle on my hand for 4th place against Harriet, swapping places a couple times I was then 4th into the final corner on the last lap. Unfortunately the rider in front crashed out and so did the rider behind me. Red flag was raised once they realised the situation of the crash, it was a very unusual incident and something I hope to not see in the future but it's always hard to predict everything. The results went back to lap 3 minus the DNFs. That put me into P3 for the final race and overall P4 in my class for the day. Congratulations Garth for winning F3.

UPDATE

Unfortunately I won't be racing this weekend at BEARS RND 2 as I injured myself while rock-climbing with work last weekend.
Definitely gutted, as I was looking forward to getting back on the bike and spinning some winter laps with @helicraftracing 😤
These things happen, and i was very lucky that it was just a dislocated elbow, and nothing else was broken or injured. Hopefully recovery will look like 2ish weeks in a cast, and 6 weeks all up.
Onwards and upwards, and lots of walks and cycling at the gym to come 💪😊

See you back on track soon!♥️

BEARS 11 May
Stunning day, and happy to be at the track with my favourite people☺️
BEARS created a new race group for all types of bikes under 400cc. Great news for us riding yamaha R3s!

It was an interesting day, with a lot of red flags in the morning practices! After a bit of confusion, the grids were up and I qualified P1.
Due to the events of the day, the races were then to be 4 laps instead of 6... bit of a bummer but happy to be out there anyway!
Race 1: Pretty average start which led to the first couple of corners jostling before breaking away. I really enjoyed being able to put some laps in at the front, and came away with the win!
Race 2: Below average start which meant I got stuck behind another rider for the first lap before breaking away and pulling an 8 second gap behind me by the end of the race, coming away with another win!

A positive day on the bike, and beat my previous pb every lap of racing! New PB: 1:45.18
Felt really comfortable and consistent, and definately felt like there was more in the tank for pace!

Looking forward to progressing more with the team.
Massive thank you as always to Rod and the team for all the support and effort that goes on to get us out on the track!

CAMS round 6

Great to get out for some racing last weekend with @helicraftracing !!

Running in the modern Jnr class, CAMS decided to join the class with Modern Snr and supertwins, which meant a very hectic qualifying with a lot of traffic and the usual big bike/small bike duels. Very slow qualifying. Qualified p10 but 2nd in class.

Race 1 I got a good start and found myself in the battles with the bigger bikes. Bit frustrating as I would get past them and then lose the places down the straights... but made for some fun racing and was a good challenge. No pbs in sight, but battles with 1-3 bikes every lap, so I'm pretty happy with how I performed! Finished p8 overall and 1st in class.

Race 2, red flagged on lap 1. On the rerun, I got a good start but got stuck on the receiving end of turn 1 madness and was sent off onto the grass. Managed to rodeo and stay on the bike. Rejoining, I had some work to do to catch back up. Chipped away, and by lap 4, I got back into the group i was battling with in race one. Finished p8 and 1st in class.

Also was able to race the kayo in F4, which was cool! Never riden one, so it was very cool to get the chance! Out there for a bit of fun as it is certainly not able to keep up with the buckets! 10/10 for fun 😁

Thanks to Rod and the whole team, and a massive welcome to @mxtyler128 !! I'm looking forward to seeing you race more on the MV!!
