Stairs are where most moving injuries and box damage actually happen — and where technique matters most.

The move is to carry the box low and angled, not straight out in front of you — that keeps your center of gravity stable and your sightline clear so you can actually see your footing.

It looks simple from the outside, but stairwells are where experience shows.

That label on the box isn't busywork — it's what makes unpacking day painless.

A good label answers three questions at a glance: which room it belongs in, what's inside, and whether it needs special handling. Skip this step and moving day goes fast, but unpacking day turns into opening every box just to find the coffee maker. Label as you pack, not after — it's much easier to remember contents in the moment than to guess later.

Small habit, huge payoff once you're settled in the new place.

The House of eMaGi is proud to spotlight @_thaddwatkins_ , CRPC™, Financial Advisor at Morgan Stanley, as a DON Level Sponsor of The B-Side Experience!

Thaddeus is in the business of empowering individuals, families, athletes, and business owners through financial education — building personalized, trackable plans that help clients create, grow, and protect their wealth. On August 1, that same commitment shows up on the yard: Thaddeus will provide a financial consultation to the winner of our featured barber initiative, turning financial literacy into a tangible community win.

That’s what a DON Level partner looks like — showing up with expertise, not just a name on a banner.

Partner Spotlight 💈

We’re honored to welcome Fade Factory Barber Studio as a Catalyst Level Sponsor of The B-Side Experience.

Fade Factory is showing up as our in-kind partner barbershop, putting clippers and chairs directly on the yard for The Fades — our community give-back cuts. This is culture and care meeting in the same space: young men getting fresh, mentors and barbers building trust one cut at a time.

Lok Inn Volume 3… what a beautiful reminder of what community truly feels like. 🤎✨

Walking into a room filled with so many beautiful locs, genuine smiles, meaningful conversations, and incredible energy was something special. This wasn’t just an event—it felt like family. It felt like a safe space where we could celebrate our crowns, our culture, and one another.

A huge THANK YOU to everyone who came out, showed up, showed out, and poured so much love into this experience. Your presence is what makes Lok Inn so special.

A special shoutout to our amazing vendors for sharing your gifts and businesses with our community, to Tooo Saucy for keeping us full with food that was absolutely delicious, and to our talented locticians for creating the beautiful styles that had everyone looking and feeling their best.

We’re also incredibly grateful to Lok Lovin Studios for providing a safe, welcoming space for us to gather, connect, and grow.

My heart is so full. Thank you for making Volume 3 one for the books. We are building more than events we’re building a community rooted in love, authenticity, and connection.

Until next time… keep loving your locs, keep loving your people, and keep showing up for one another. 🤎🌿
