Hey, I’m Priscilla, a 3rd year art student at CSULB. I’m a mixed media artist skilled in drawing, painting, sculpture, and textiles. Recently I’ve been focusing on oil paints. I’m also the student artist behind the Latine Resource Center’s logo. My art focuses on thematics of sexual violence & assault, gender fluidity, to broken families. Often depicting torn and worn down objects. To drawings of decaying cities. Belly of the Beast brings together this collection of works focused on the effects of U.S-led violence. I’m excited to have my art shown alongside other dedicated artists in our community who create for the collective and spark important conversations about U.S imperialism and its effects on our own homelands. I’m grateful to be a part of this art exhibition dedicated to uplifting voices of marginalized groups in the U.S. Can’t wait to see y’all at the opening reception on February 16th at CSULB’s Fine Arts Courtyard at the Gatov East Gallery. ¡El pueblo unido jamás será vencido!
