Here are the photos from my final BFA exhibition. Thanks to those that helped along the way Artist statement: The main motivators were to pose questions about the natural environment and wealth inequality. The project delves more specifically into the idea around feeling that I am personally being pushed out of the landscape that I grew up in due to an increase in living costs and rising gentrification. This is something I have personally noticed myself due to living on Waiheke Island all of my life and seeing the changes that have shaped the island landscape, such as the increase in large mansions and in the contrast of house pricing and construction. I have taken to noticing that all of the places I used to remember as uninhabited and untouched are becoming fewer and further between. When I am in a landscape such as the one on Waiheke, that I have a very deep connection with, I felt that it would be the most effective for me to show the areas and views that have influenced me throughout my life. Without me even realising it these landscapes have shaped how I see the world around me. I have been very fortunate to grow up around large expanses of the natural environment and have grown an appreciation for it. I have also been able to see through the small, varied and ever changing population, a sort of microcosm of all different walks of life. I will continue to investigate these areas and the change that is happening all the time. Who knows what the future will bring? #studygram #studentlife #landscapephotography #artphotography #artprint

For the last year and a bit I have been working towards something big, it has taken me until now to process it all. It's had its own challenges but I'm thankful for the haumis that held it down for me all year - letting me nap on the couch, dance all night, talk mad shit at mahi, punch each other in the face at the gym, cooked me kai so good I cried when it was all gone 😂 and unrelenting support. It's all helped me stay sane as I wrapped my head around this opportunity and got the mahi done. Love yous 💗
