We are excited to share another #acuhonorsgrad senior! Gabby Hill is graduating with a B.S. in Middle School Science Education and minors in Psychology and Bible.

What’s next for you?
I will be attending the masters of education program at acu to continue my education and to become a teacher in the future. I am interested in teaching, particularly students in the lower income and poverty areas.

What was your favorite Honors colloquium, class or event, and why?
My favorite honors, colloquium was the food and poetry with Dr. Moore. We read some pretty amazing poetry ain’t got to enjoy many of the foods in Abilene. This class also just really built a close sense of community. It was just all girls who signed up for that class and we all really bonded, very closely. And got to learn about each other while enjoying poetry and many different perspectives on things.

What classes or professors had the biggest impact on your Honors College experience?
Other than the fun colloquiums, I think one of the biggest impacts that the honors college had on me was the small and intentional bible classes. I came to acu not really knowing Christ, and once I went to those bible classes, I was really spiritually filled with so much information. And the professors encouraged me, and I was able to really learn about this amazing faith and who I am in this faith.

How has being a part of Honors or McNair Scholars prepared you for what’s next?
Being in the honors college, preparing me for deep and critical thinking. That is something that we have in college. But the honors college continued to dive me deeper, especially in my biology classes with our biology seminar.I

Looking back over your time in Honors or McNair Scholars, what advice would you give to new Honors students?
I would say to these new honor students to really just take it all in. There are so many opportunities in the honors college that can sometimes be taken for granted, use those smaller classes and intentional communities to fully embrace your time here at ACU.
