Ce vendredi, à travers une sélection de courts-métrages antimilitaristes, on vous propose de regarder la guerre autrement : depuis celles et ceux qui la refusent, la désertent, la subissent ou lui désobéissent. Car partout en Europe, on réarme, les budgets militaires explosent et les discours guerriers se banalisent. On voudrait nous convaincre que la guerre est inévitable. Un avenir glaçant pour les peuples, fait de toujours plus d’armées et de frontières.

Cette soirée affirme l’inverse : la guerre n’est pas une fatalité. Plus que jamais, en Suisse comme ailleurs, faisons la guerre à la guerre.

‘Soil of sorrow’ is part of Dark is a Color, an ongoing
project started in 2020 and developed during the collapse, power cuts and blackouts.

The works question the concept of Darkness in the context of the wars in Lebanon and the specific ways of seeing they inflict, looking to reveal how such conditions can affect photographic practice. The images are color photograms made in the dark using a chromogenic process, printing matter, soil and rubble foraged from the artist's mother's house in Mount Lebanon, a street in Dahieh, the Beirut Art Center site in Jisr El Wati and her friend's house in South Lebanon. They approach darkness as a mode of perception in itself, as well as a generative and expressive space.

By putting objects in the dark, re-lighting and printing them, the artist seeks to produce a light that is not seen but felt. From the depths of each object, new and different images surface, made visible only by the gloom.

A group exhibition by Collective Homecoming at Zico House.

The exhibition brings together multidisciplinary works by Collective Homecoming and invited local artists, exploring absence, displacement, memory, grief, and the possibility of imagining belonging from afar.

What began as a residency in Lebanon shifted into a collective reflection on what remains when presence is no longer possible — through painting, temporary installation, photography, video, and shared gestures of return.

We are delighted to announce the official dates and participants of our Absence Walk With Me exhibition to be held @zicohouseofficial .

Absence Walk With Me brings together multidisciplinary works by international Collective Homecoming and nine local artists to explore themes of displacement, grief, and emotional endurance.

Originally intended as a residency in Lebanon, the project shifted when escalating conflict prevented international members from arriving, turning an interrupted plan into a collective reflection on physical absence and what remains.

Hosted at Beirut’s historic Zico House, the exhibition spans painting, temporary installation, photography,
and video. It invites viewers to examine how distance, memory, and spatial belonging persist when presence is no longer possible.

Opening night, Thursday 6th of August from 6 PM to 9 PM.
Exhibition on show: 7th - 17th August 2026 from 4 PM to 9 PM.

يُفتتح على وشك في ١٣ تشرين الثاني، من الساعة ٦ حتى ٩ مساءً في مركز بيروت للفن

وُلد مشروع على وشك من دعوة مفتوحة وُجّهت إلى فنانين ناشئين من لبنان والمنطقة، ويتجلّى كمعرض متحوّل؛ عملية حيّة تتشكّل بقوة النار الهادئة. ما بدأ بعشرين مقترحًا تطوّر إلى استوديو جماعي، حيث عمل الفنانون وتكيّفوا وتحوّلوا في الزمن الحقيقي.
