Smooth sailing summer😌

Anywhere with my college best friends is simply my favorite place to be. A few months ago, we saved July 24th on our calendars for a dinner party, and I immediately got to work, planning a menu, digging through my seashell collection for decor, and taste-testing recipes.

The entire menu was inspired by a single find at Trader Joe’s: lemon pesto. It might sound unusual, but the sweet-yet-tart flavor was the exact vibe I wanted for a coastal summer gathering.

Between homemade sangria, Andrew’s magic on the grill for the perfect chicken, and a dessert none of us had ever tried, the night was effortless. We ended the evening lingering over dessert, deep in conversation about all the ways to pair that delicious, creamy lemon flavor.

Mixed emotions about 2025…

This year showed me just how precious life really is. It can change in the blink of an eye with no warning. I watched myself go through the hardest time in my life. There were days I didn’t recognize myself in the mirror, days that I was forced to get out of bed, and days I didn’t think I’d come out on the other side. My closest friends and family saw me at my worst and I hated that. As much as this year was hard, it was a blessing that I got to spend everyday with my family. I have been reminded I need the people I love closest to me. When I look back on this year I hope I feel thankful for all the people put in my life during this moment. I am so happy to say I am becoming the best version of myself as I enter a new year.
