Thank you all who joined us for today's 'Religion Now' in the Dept of Religion at MSU! Author Mark Van Buren and I taught the dharma of accepting the present moment as it is while expanding the space we hold for a multiplicity of authentic - and not always pleasant - feelings. When we practice awareness and offer kindness to the unlikeable, imperfect aspects of our lives, we actually strengthen our mindfulness. Just be aware. Notice. Don't try to fix, change, or replace. Just be at peace with what is. That is 'the work'. #dharma #mindfulness #mindful #meditation #yourlifeisnow #powerofnow #meditation #buddha #buddhism #palicanon #nobletruths #mahayana #theravada #zen #chan @authormarkvanburen @willowrose_energy_works @nicolegcompres @msu_religionnow

“Being Latina means everything to me, it’s the best thing that I have,” #REVModel, Gabriela Duran says. “It means not only where I come from but my culture and ways of living. As an immigrant I feel motivated to inspire others so they can be able to embrace where they come from too.” Photography by Omar Ulloa, 2019.
