Yesterday I turned 21, and to be honest I didn’t want to do anything to celebrate. I woke up with a sense of gratitude. And asked my friends if we could just go out and evangelize on campus to simply share the light of Christ which changed my life 7 years ago. As I went through the day though, deep inside I wished to be surrounded with my family and friends back home in Georgia, but went about my day attending my classes and doing homework per usual.

In the evening though, right before my friends surprised me, I was on the phone with my parents and after ending the call, I cried. Although I was truly filled with gratitude for another year, I was honest to God that I felt lonely being out of state for school and not being able to celebrate major milestones with the community that raised and supported me. Then less than 20 minutes later I walked into a room filled with the beautiful community God was surrounding me with on campus. They worshiped with me, prayed with me, and ushered me into this new season with words of encouragement, joy, and life. And for that I am forever grateful 🤍.

Know that God is real and so is His love for you! Thank you God for being El Roi, the God who sees me. Cheers to year 21 ✨🎉!!!
