Cardiff Castle — Show 2: The Streets-Encore edition 🏰

From the first beats of Turn the Page, I knew A Grand Don’t Come For Free was just the warm up. My voice was already gone, but I was just loving every moment. 😂

I turned to Danielle and said, “I feel like a twat.”

She goes, “I feel like a twat because I don’t know all the words.”

I said, “I feel like a twat because I do.”

She goes, “You’ve made that very obvious.” 😂

Seeing Never Went to Church live was the most emotional thing I’ve ever experienced at a gig. I’ve never cried like it. It just touched the right spot. I was so happy, but it also made me think about my grandad.

I’ll never forget Danielle giving me such a big hug after it was over. She knew what that song meant to me.

Miss you, Grandad. ❤️

Hearing Take Me as I Am live was unbelievable the entire crowd was going for it. I always remember mixing that in the kitchen at 3am in 2020. 😂

Mike trying to take Cardiff from the rear wasn’t on my bingo card to be honest, but I guess it should’ve been. 😂

What a night. I will never, ever forget it. A core memory for the rest of my life.

Can’t wait for round 3 of seeing them in November.

Hopefully they have On the Edge of a Cliff in the setlist. I think I might actually melt if they do. ❤️

What a summer with The Streets. So many incredible shows, so many moments and a whole lot of laughs along the way.

There’s nothing quite like being out on the road with a great bunch of people — band, crew and everyone behind the scenes who makes these shows happen night after night. The love and energy on this run has been something special. 🙏🏿❤️

Feeling knackered but very grateful and fulfilled. Wouldn’t change it.

Big love to the whole Streets family. What a summer! ❤️

See you all in November for the next run… can’t wait to do it all again. 🥁🔥

Cardiff Castle — Show 2: A Grand Don’t Come for Free edition 🏰

22 years in the making. The absolute top of my bucket list. I finally got to see The Streets, and It was everything I could have wanted and more.

I’ve never felt so many emotions in such a short space of time. Hearing A Grand Don’t Come for Free in full was life changing. This album has been part of my life for as long as I can remember. I must have played it a thousand times, and hearing it live, in full, with my sister, was something I genuinely never thought I’d experience.

We got there at doors and, obviously, I went straight for the vinyl box set and somehow walked away with a full tote bag of merch. 😂 I met Joe at the backstage entrance and he sorted my missing Virji wristband and somehow gave me four. 😂 Legend ❤️

Local & Lucas Alexander absolutely smashed it, Jimothy Lacoste followed, and we ended up chatting to the legends next to us. The dad looked at me and went:

“YOU’RE TOO YOUNG FOR THE STREETS!”

I told him I knew every word. He didn’t believe me. Halfway through AGDCFF his son looked at me like:

“WHAT? YOU DO KNOW EVERY SINGLE WORD?” 😂

Casisdead then massively exceeded my expectations and built the vibe perfectly.

Then came The Streets.

I sang. I cried. I laughed. I felt everything possible in one go.

Seeing the bus stop and the whole story brought to life was incredible. And Roo was amazing too. My sister even asked me to nudge her when @rooismyname was about to do her solo, which made me smile. ❤️

Then Blinded by the Lights happened including some absolute chaos at the rail, before Empty Cans completely got me.

That song means so much to me, and hearing it live at that exact moment felt almost painfully ironic.

“The end of something I did not want to end.”

And that was exactly how the whole night felt.

It wasn’t just a gig. It was an album that has been part of my life for years, finally happening in front of me, while I experienced every possible emotion at once.

And I got to experience it all with my sister.

That alone made it so special. ❤️

Before Turn the Page had even come on, I’d already decided I was seeing them again.

See you soon @victoriousfestival ❤️

Love this. Having a jam with Mike Skinner using his anti-DAW setup. Just an old modified Yamaha tabletop digital drum kit, no computer, no distractions—just playing, creating and capturing ideas.

It’s a great reminder that it’s never really about having the latest gear. Sometimes the simplest setup is all you need to spark something special. Creativity first… everything else comes after. 🥁🎶
