Music, art, and resistance in the Bronx. A few moments from Sunday’s Octubre Rebelde, presented by @actionlabny, @bxmusic, and La Peña del Bronx as part of @falloffreedom.

From @waikil_rapmapuche’s headline performance to the photo exhibit “Ayer y Hoy, Chile contra El Fascismo,” we came together to celebrate culture and collective resistance.

Thank you to every artist, photographer, and neighbor who joined us. Courage is contagious. Art matters.

Pellízquenme, de verdad esto pasó!? ❤️‍🔥🎶✊🏾🖤🎤
Nataanii Means (Oglala Lakota/Omaha/Diné - EE. UU.)
Renata Flores (Quechua - Perú)
Luanko + MC Millaray + DJ Seltzer (Mapuche - Chile)
Mare Advertencia Lirika (Zapoteca - Oaxaca)

Thanks to the Bronx Documentary Center’s Latin American Film and Foto Festival for a dynamic screening of Water For Life / Agua Es Vida last Saturday night. Cool venue with an aware, engaged audience who embraced us warmly.

Special thanks to the thoughtful team at BDC - programmer Cynthia Rodriguez and Gabriel Hernández Solano. It was a treat to connect with an inspiring group of young filmmakers and visual storytellers after the screening.

Photos by the talented Pamela Y. Rozón, Bronx Documentary Center. Keep an eye out for her films! 🎥💃🥂
