JUNE’S ENDING ~

We frequently associate what we see while scrolling our social medias with a representation of how amazing & perfect others lives are. But we are already biased because the displayed content was carefully chosen by its owner to reflect a certain own « irreproachability ».

In the few vids I received from the last two parties, I chose not to care much about how the content would be interpreted by the viewers:

You can clearly see that we were pushing into the red in the mixing table at @dalis_bar_brussels, which is an old analogical Rodec. I gave my best to properly gain stage the sound-system as there was a very low limiter threshold on it, and yes it appeared that we finally went for an analogical zone red summing because it was the best compromise between us, the sound-system and the bar’s public.

On the second video at @dude_1348 bar, nobody is dancing except me. In these moments, one would quickly deduce that the whole set wasn’t good, that the DJ might have been off the whole time regarding his connexion to the public. It wasn’t the case though, as it might have been one of the few moments I went too far into my mind’s mixing progression and people didn’t follow on this particular track. I do know in my heart and in your feedback words that you enjoyed the set for those who were there 😉

Taking risks by choosing such transparency regarding how I am actually DJing at parties (which sometimes means with gain staging compromises and empty dancefloor connexions on some occasions) means that I am not afraid of not being perfect.

N O B O D Y I S .

-Yes I like to take moments of reflexions like this one 🙃-

Except this, as usual, thank you to my friends of @kotetmix for Dude’s party, thank you @syl_syns for the very sweet B2B at Dali’s, thank you Stephane for being such a nice host at @dalis_bar_brussels, and finally thank you to all my friends and strangers who came enjoying the parties, it is so good to enjoy so many musical moments with you in 2022.

Till next ones!

Lof,
Mesomorph
