POSTS STORIES REELS TAGGED

I almost didn’t tell this story.

Because we love to share the medals, the finish lines, and the Team USA jersey… but not always the dark side of chasing a dream.

After several medical setbacks, I fought hard with my doctors for the chance to compete in Ireland.

I didn’t want to disappoint my community, my team, or myself.

But my doctors told me the risk was too great. They warned me that pushing my body could potentially mean never walking, talking, or racing again.

Those words changed everything.

But I knew one thing:

MY GOD IS BIGGER.

Bigger than the fear.
Bigger than the setbacks.
Bigger than the diagnosis.
Bigger than the impossible.

I knew that simply making it to the start line in Ireland would be a miracle.

And then…

I MADE IT. 🇺🇸🇮🇪

🏃‍♀️ 28th — Elite Short Course
🏃‍♀️ 28th — Elite Standard Course
🇺🇸 6th — Elite Women Team Relay
🥉 3rd — 400m Age Group
🥈 2nd — 400m Age Group Team Relay

Maybe these aren’t the results I once dreamed of.

But after everything it took just to get there, they mean more to me than any podium ever could.

Because I didn’t just race in Ireland.

I got another chance.

A chance to do what I love.
A chance to wear the Team USA jersey.
A chance to stand on a World Championship start line when I wasn’t sure I’d ever race again.

Sometimes the miracle isn’t winning.

Sometimes the miracle is simply getting to the start line.

God didn’t promise me an easy road.

He promised He would never leave me.

And He was with me every step of the way. ❤️

Ireland, I’ll never forget you. 🇮🇪

My God is bigger. Always.

Once upon a time…@horse_pens_40 before @triplecrownbouldering existed on the #godmodule boulder about 20 feet to its left was this short, stout party trick🧊
Unfortunately the starting block disappeared sometime in the 2010s? Never to be seen or heard from again…

Lots of pictures here, but we had a big weekend! It was our first annual Windy Van Hootenanny!

Many thanks to @nationalhonorsocietygchs for making Hooten Holler look good! @backfortybeer for your continued support! And the Alpha Kappa Alpha Sorority for coming in clutch on the sandwiches!

Event sponsors: @gadsdenregional @foodcitygrocery @publix And @spireenergy for supporting Hooten Holler.

Teacher prizes from @thepeopleplacechurch @holycomforterepiscschool @gadrock @foodcitygrocery @the_alabama_gift_company @thecoffeebargadsden and The Stone Market!

And special thanks to our board members, including Chef Michael Wilson! Also want to thank the Foggy Hollow Bluegrass Band for the tunes! And Grace Brown for helping put the event together!

This was a free event to celebrate our teachers who we have tremendous respect for! Look for the 2nd annual Hootenanny about this time next year!😉

She said it was the best birthday party ever! Seriously, from the bottom of our hearts, thank you to everyone who were able to make it! And thank you to those who took pictures because I definitely did not. Our girl is so happy she doesn't want the day to end even though she's deliriously tired. Happy Birthday again Squish! I hope you had the best birthday weekend because I sure did, celebrating and spoiling you! I love you BIG! 😘 Lucian also tried climbing today 😂
