NAP+ in Amsterdam by @art.unlocked.official: much-loved favourites, new discoveries, and one unexpected phone call ☎️

This weekend, ART UNLOCKED founder @lana.filonava visited NAP+, a boutique art fair in Amsterdam, now in its third edition.

Seeing our ART UNLOCKED partner galleries from Amsterdam routes, shining in a completely different setting? Always a pleasure! ❤️ @madevankrimpen_, @galeriefontana, @martin_van_zomeren , and @stigtervandoesburg.

Experiencing artistic journeys first-hand 🎨: from Eric Giraudet de Boudemange @e_g_d_b and his wonderfully playful self-portrait masks to Adriaan Rees @adriaanrees and his transformative porcelain torsos (thanks for introducing me to Eduard Seer! 😊) to Robin and Todor - the artistic duo behind the gorgeous lobster project (thanks for the oysters 🦪🦞) at @durstbrittmayhew.

And then, at Rotterdam-based @galerievivid, our favourite gym metaphor came to life — quite literally! 💪 Who knew exercising your curiosity could be such a workout? Rotterdam, here we come! Stay tuned!

And the artwork that stayed with us the most? A telephone service. ☎️ Pick up the phone. Have a conversation. See where it takes you. The Line by The Department of Destruction, created by Shivani Gowda @beneaththepalatree and Kes Lugt @keslugt, offers a rather unusual service: a direct line to help you navigate the art world.

A twin project to ART UNLOCKED? Or perhaps a sign that we're not the only ones who believe the art world could use a little help becoming more accessible? Either way, we love it! ❤️

An artwork that invites you to ask questions, challenges the way we experience art, and turns a simple conversation into an artistic encounter. Did we call? Of course we did!

At @art.unlocked.official , we believe that contemporary art doesn't have to come with all the answers. Sometimes, the most interesting part is simply starting a conversation.

Thank you, @nap.plus, for a day full of art, curiosity, and new connections!
Same time next year? Already in our calendar!

We are delighted to welcome Galerie VIVID to NAP+ 2026, presenting works by Chan Chiao Chun, Ciro Duclos, and Bas van Beek. Chiao Chun explores the shifting relationship between the human body, objects, and their surroundings, creating vividly coloured forms that move between art and design. Duclos works with materials drawn from urban structures, bringing steel, concrete, glass, and other industrial matter into sculptural compositions shaped by both his immediate surroundings and cultural histories. Van Beek turns to the archives of art and design, appropriating and recombining historical forms to question ideas of originality, authorship, and the distinction between past and present.

Dit beeld zal me lang bijblijven.

Flashback: Efrat Zehavi — @GalerieVIVID presented three new sculpture series by Efrat Zehavi, including "Portrait of Freedom", an installation of 34 portraits in plasticine, a malleable modelling clay that does not harden when exposed to air. While making the works, the artist spoke with her models about what (un)freedom means to them. The portraits were sculpted in colours chosen by the sitters themselves because they associated these colours with freedom. Another work from this project is currently on view at Fenix. For this installation, Zehavi created 116 portraits of Rotterdam residents, using their stories as the point of departure. In her work, the artist often addresses existential themes such as origin, family relationships and migration. She also depicts uncomfortable or painful feelings, but always with a certain sense of humour. Zehavi frequently works in public places, where encounters and conversations (and oral histories) form the foundation of her portraits and installations. Through her practice, Zehavi shows how individual stories can become a collective portrait. Discover more works from the booth in the online catalogue on @GalleryViewer: catalog.galleryviewer.com [link in our bio].
