Curated by Alannah Robins, “Landlines” brings together seven Irish artists connected to Interface Inagh, an artist-led residency on Ireland’s west coast. Through painting, photography, sculpture, film and printmaking, the exhibition explores landscape, ecology, memory and the relationship between people and place.

The artists

Claire McLaughlin is a Galway-based artist working with clay and print, exploring domestic space and ecological concerns.

Ceara Conway works with song, performance and visual media, exploring loss, migration and environmental crisis.

Dolores Lyne engages with archaeology, coastal landscapes and Irish history through her artistic practice.

Jo Killalea is a visual artist whose work explores peatlands, preservation and environmental change.

Kevin Griffin is a Clifden-based photographer documenting Connemara and its landscapes.

Noelle Gallagher works across painting, moving image, photography and printmaking, with a focus on woodland restoration.

Sarah Ellen Lundy works with moving image, assemblage and installation, exploring identity, communication and form.

Sweden: Ecology and Identity

Artists from Connemara’s Interface Inagh show at Galleri Duerr in Stockholm. An ecological theme is explored by artists Claire McLaughlin, Dolores Lyne, Jo Killalea, Kevin Griffi n, Noelle Gallagher and Sarah Ellen Lundy. At the same venue, Ceara Conway’s multimedia performance examines how cultural memory and oral traditions shape contemporary understandings of place and identity, accompanied by music from Crash Ensemble.

DOLORES & RESIST

This Saturday, they take their place at @kalmarkonstmuseum

The jury has selected two of my works for Sydosten – Dolores and a piece from my RESIST series.

Dolores is a woman who has lived.
Her emotions have shaped her. Pain and joy have carved themselves into her being.

The word dolor means pain in Spanish, and life is meant to be felt in its entirety.
Dolores carries every bruise and every triumph with pride. She is proof that we are not our wounds, but the strength with which we carry them.

To dare to exist. To feel. And to remain unwaveringly yourself.

[Terra/Terratorium. Islands of Power, Landscapes of Time]

@galleriduerr has anchored its move within the Stockholm gallery district around Hudiksvallsgatan/Gävlegatan, inaugurating its new venue with the second solo of artist Karin Lind (@karinsimka). The scale of her large-scale paintings, including triptychs and painting on brass surfaces, offer an optical allure that more than just a little informs the new space aptly for a reinvigorated ”slate”.

Imagery in the exhibition is said to be drawing on real-life experiences and historical events, foregrounding the islands of Åland, Gotland, and Greenland as both geographical locations and geopolitical symbols, and the power struggles and negotiations over territory that lies therein.

That question of labels and who gets to define us is also at the heart of my piece ”Maskrosbarn”. A small coincidence that makes seeing the work in this particular story feel a bit extra 🫠💫

The body has always been central to my work.
I work with resistance, identity, power and the right to take up space.

My forms rise, push forward and take up space. They are bodily, sometimes phallic, and sometimes quite openly sexual.

I’m interested in that tension. In desire and strength, but also in how we read bodies and forms. What we see, what we project, and what happens when a form refuses to stay within a given meaning.
There is resistance in my work. But also desire.
And perhaps above all 🔥 A will to stand your ground.

Norwegian Crafts is back from this year’s edition of @sthlmcraftweek ✨✨

It was great to experience some of the many exhibitions and events taking place on the occasion of Craft Week, as well as seeing many of our Nordic colleagues and collaborators.

In collaboration with the Saami Council, Norwegian Crafts hosted the lunch event «Made to Last» at the Norwegian Embassy in Stockholm:

In a world shaped by fast-moving trends and mass production, duodje, the traditional Sámi craft practice, offers something genuine: a deep connection to nature, knowledge, and cultural heritage. At this lunch event, we met Sámi artisans (duodjára) and explored duodje as a process rather than simply a product. Through sustainable natural materials, generations of knowledge, and a holistic approach to making, we gain insight into why duodje can be seen as the ultimate expression of quality, sustainability, and true luxury.
