Not really sure of our label. Or future direction. Or inclination. We just know what we like. And what we don't like.

Some gallery visits are about admiring art. Others become memorable because of the people you meet along the way. 🎨🤎

I usually spend my gallery visits quietly wandering around, appreciating paintings and the stories behind them. But this time was different. I had someone to talk to, exchange thoughts with, and share the experience with. And somehow, that made the visit even more meaningful.

A heartfelt thank you to Sir JT for the warm hospitality, kindness, and invitation to the art showcase of Kirby Roxas, an award-winning Filipino artist and educator.

His Paradigm Shift series explores how our perspective changes what we see, using intricate lenticular paintings that transform as viewers move. A beautiful reminder that sometimes, seeing things differently changes everything.

My appreciation also goes to Tin-aw Art Gallery for continuing to create spaces that bring art, artists, and people together.

More than admiring beautiful works, this was an opportunity to connect, learn, and experience art from another perspective.

Thank you, Sir JT, for making this visit extra special. Here's to more art, conversations, and unexpected discoveries!

Opening Reception: Sunday, 18 October 2026, 4:00pm
Gallery Sort Of, 37 Camaro St. West Fairview, Quezon City
On view through 8 November 2026

Gallery Sort Of together with Tin-aw Art Projects is pleased to present Paradigm Shift, an exhibition of new paintings by Filipino visual artist Kirby Roxas. The opening reception takes place on Sunday, 18 October 2026, at 4:00pm.

In Paradigm Shift, Roxas captures shifting scenes within intricate frames. Lenticular painting, which references flip pictures or motion cards, is a technique he has developed in which the image changes as the viewer moves. Each painting in this series offers a different aspect depending on where one stands, allowing both the scenes and their painted frames to transform with the onlooker’s movement. For Roxas, this means painting different landscapes at least three times for a single artwork. The compositions in Paradigm Shift suggest how a change in viewpoint can alter the way we see and understand the world.

Daydreams & Nightmares, a multi-artist exhibit at @gallery.sort.of . Medyo biased lang tayo kasi I still LOVE Jesse's work most. 😅 But they were all amazing, some dreamy, some dark, some dystopian, some of whimsy, some of fear.

And also a pocket exhibit by Red Santillan, an artist from Negros! It was nice meeting you @red.wos !

“Nightmares are nothing but dark illusions.”

When we sleep, our deepest fears take shape in our dreams. But sometimes, the darkest nightmares are the ones we face while awake.

We fear losing control, losing our grip on reality, and facing death. Yet perhaps these fears are only shadows, dark illusions made real by our minds.

Shadows may frighten us, but they cannot exist without light.

Even in our darkest moments, there is still hope. The nightmare may be dark, but it does not have to be the end.
