This the subtitle of this cookbook describes it well: “Mostly Vegetarian Comfort Food That Happens To Be Pretty Good For You” I used vegetables from our inspiring CSA @longtablefarmct in Lyme, Connecticut @galuten @knopfcooks @aaknopf #slaw #cabbage #tahini #tahini #vegan

What happens when two new parents realize the conversation around pregnancy, family, and nutrition feels fragmented? They create “the cookbook they wished they had been able to read all along.” On his Substack, @galuten spotlights Eating for Life, a new cookbook from @thevidawell and @ericwolfinger, and shares their recipe for Seedy Protein Crackers. As Noah notes, nourishing for pregnancy isn't so different from nourishing ourselves and our family in every other stage of life. Head to the link in our bio to read Noah’s full Substack piece. #eatingforlife #eatingforlifecookbook #noahgaluten #cookbook #homecooking #familymeals #cookbookauthor 📷 @ericwolfinger

Gratitude and apology alert! This week my buddy @galuten shared our Seedy Protein Cracker recipe on his Substack, I AM LEGALLY REQUIRED TO FEED YOU. Noah loves his kids, loves cooking for his kids, and has a sense of humor about the whole thing. Thankfully, he also has a sense of humor about cookbook errors. Of the 120 recipes in EATING FOR LIFE, the Seedy Crackers were a late addition and so one the very few recipes that didn’t get tested by two of our friends. Anyhow, Noah made the recipe according to our instructions and got a thick, chewy thing instead of the ethereally light, wafer-crisp cracker we intended. What happened? We tested the recipe again and confirmed our instructions weren’t clear enough and that the baking time was too short. This is the terror of publishing a physical book. You can fix a recipe on the internet in 30 seconds, but you can’t fix 3,500 books sitting in a warehouse until the next printing. Thank you, Noah, for bringing the mistake to our attention and being very chill about it. Now go check out his Substack for the corrected recipe, which we can now assure will make some damn fine and ethereally crispy crackers.

People have been asking about my favorite seafood books. These are just a few of them. But I tried to grab the books I come back to over and over again. All of these are great reads and are packed with not just recipes, but knowledge, tips, and tricks. If I’m missing any let me know. I always need a new book to read through. #igreads #igbooks #cooking #cookbook #seafood
