Passionfruit and Coconut Profiteroles 💜✨~ Vintage Week Signature
.
Choux pastry is something I’ve always had trouble making and not tried enough times to have perfected it 🤷🏽‍♀️ but overall I’m relieved to have made the judges @rachelkhooks & @darrenpurchese happy with the flavours despite a not-so-successful choux pastry 🙏🏼💕 passionfruit and coconut are an absolute favourite combo of mine 🤤
.
#5 is me praying for my choux buns to rise to the occasion 😅🙈
#6 is @calbowilson being supportive about my flat choux buns 💕😂
# 10 @rachelkhooks offering a ray of hope on the flavours 🥹💕

Vintage technical~ if i could explain this technical with an expression it would undoubtedly be this 🙈😂😅😮
.
So many firsts in this technical challenge set by @darrenpurchese 🙈 Cooking beef, actually seeing what a Beef Wellington looked like amongst other smaller things.
.
#7 the people with their hands up in this picture had made this before. Yeah, that’s right, none of us had. Despite all that we all pretty much nailed it!

Episode 2 ~ Biscuit week showstopper 🍪 was a roller coaster ride in just the last 15 minutes! 🫣
.
I was in trouble because of an oven setting that I had incorrectly set and my biscuits were soft. I figured this out only about 15 minutes before the time was up. I had almost given up, but this guardian angel @whatsadambaking rushed in to help me. Gently putting whatever that was left on to that board. I can’t imagine I even had anything to walk to the judges with. And I’m ever so thankful to this amazing soul for that moment ♥️ #MadLove
.
Anyone who already knows me knows I’m a cake person, an artist. But I’m not entirely a biscuit person. It wasn’t something I was afraid of doing, despite not being my jam. Although never in my wildest dreams did I imagine this would happen 😭
.
The judges @rachelkhooks & @darrenpurchese were very kind and patient, listening to what happened to my showstopper and giving it a taste regardless of how it turned out. I was so relieved they loved the flavours and texture of it 🫠 and all this is the essence of the bake off for me ♥️🤗
.
My plan was to make a board with an image of a cute elephant in a puzzle form and once the puzzle is made the players need to blind fold and dot the eye of the elephant as accurately as they can. Whoever placed it the closest, wins! This is a simple yet fun game from Sri Lankan New Years called “Aliyata Aha Thabeema”, loosely translating to “Dot the eye of the elephant”🐘👁️
