Matt opens up about his experience with Ayahuasca and the moment he felt like everything he knew about himself completely disappeared. In this episode of What Are We Drinking?, Matt shares what it was like to experience what he later learned was called an “ego death”, a moment that challenged his sense of identity and left him questioning who he was beyond the roles he had built his life around. It’s a fascinating conversation about identity, perspective and what can happen when your understanding of yourself is turned upside down. 🎙️ Catch the full conversation on What Are We Drinking? with Rachel Carey.

Your nervous system doesn’t need another escape. It needs something it can rely on. One sauna. One plunge. One class. One slow Sunday. They can all feel incredible — but the real shift happens when recovery stops being something you do when you’re already exhausted and becomes part of the way you live. You notice when you’re always “on.” You learn how to come down. You practise staying steady when life gets uncomfortable. And, with repetition, calm starts to feel a little more familiar. That’s the difference between a one-off and a ritual. At Unwind, we’re building the weekly rhythm around it: movement, breath, traditional Finnish sauna, cold plunge and recovery — not just to feel better for an hour, but to support how you show up for everything outside the studio too. Longevity lives in the rituals. ♾️ Ready to build yours? UNWIND.30 | 30 days | $229 Comment RITUAL and we’ll send you the details. #unwindstudios #penrith #recovery #contrasttherapy #longevity

YOU DON’T GET STRONGER FROM TRAINING. YOU GET STRONGER FROM RECOVERING FROM IT. More isn’t always better. More sessions. More kilometres. More weight. More stress on a body that’s already asking for a break. Recovery is where the work actually lands. It’s the sauna. The cold. The breath. The pause. The ritual you come back to every week. Because looking after your body isn’t something you do when you’re injured, burnt out or exhausted. It’s how you stop getting there in the first place. Train hard. Recover harder. Repeat. ♾️ Traditional Finnish Sauna + Cold Plunge 📍 Unwind Studios | Penrith #unwindstudios #recovery #coldplunge #sauna #penrith
