The San Francisco 49ers will be facing the Kansas City Cheifs in the Super Bowl. The host city is Las Vegas, which offers plenty of things to do not only in the city but in the surrounding area. Here are some great places to check out if you are attending the Super Bowl or have a trip in the near future travels to Vegas in the future. A lot of these places came to me by recommendation of post-it notes from Uber rider inside information.

The Strip is amazing and offers plenty of places to check out from the hotels, casinos, street vendors, and incredible dining experiences. A couple of hotels I enjoyed are Caesars Palace, MGM Grand, The Bellagio, and The Venetian. Each hotel offers a unique style and theme plus incredible dining experiences.

If you're looking to get out of the city, check out The Hoover Dam, Red Rocks National Park, and Death Valley. All three are incredible and worth the drive.

If you have kids and are looking for a fun gaming place, head to The Game Nest. Located in Las Vegas, this family fun experience offers great arcade games and plenty of kid friendly activities.

An awesome and unique dining experience, especially if you're looking for incredible Venezuelan cuisine, is Viva Las Arepas. Located on South Las Vegas blvd this dining experience offers incredible empanadas and Venezuelan grilled items.

Las Vegas and the surrounding area is an amazing time. It offers the beauty of the desert and luxury of the city. Three hotels that I have stayed at include Hyatt Place Las Vegas, The Strat, and Circus Circus. I enjoyed all three and found them easy access to the Strip and other places mentioned. Finally, if you get a chance, you can drive up to St. George, Utah, to explore the area around there, including Zion National Park. #ridingwithkurt

Video game writing for the @lasvegasweekly gives me an immense amount of joy. So today, as you prepare to start your weekend I issue my fellow game lovers a challenge: Listen to the amazing chiptune band @decayingtigers, then check out the new season of Las Vegas game podcast @theothercastle and finally, play some Japanese arcade games at Chinatown's @game_nest.

All stories for these are in the bio!
